Chapter 8

-Aurora P.O.V-
*2 weeks later*

I packed the last remaining hoodie, and tried to zip my bag closed. I started at it for a second, knowing I over paked. but hey! I would rather over pack than underpack. My mom always said I was prepared, and I could picture her funny state now. I smiled to myself, thinking I should call her and see how she is. I pushed away my thoughts, turning my focus back to my flooded suitcase. I struggled, sitting on top of my suitcase and sighed. I bit my lip, getting an idea. I bounced up and down until I had it almost completely shut. I felt victorious as I finally zipped it closed when Melly came into my room.
"Hey!" she cheered as she made her way over to hug me. I giggled and hugged her tightly. I hadn't seen her since vidcon, so I was extricated to see her bright smile. I examined her outfit, which consisted of a warm black jacket, red flannel, ripped black jeans, white tank top, and some cute boots. I could tell that she seemed overjoyed about going camping.
"So, are you ready to go?" she asked me, grabbing my bag. I watched her set it by the door as I finished tying my converse.
"Yep." I responded, popping the p. My attention was caught by the voice carrying up the stairs.
"Can you gals not take forever?" I heard Destrey call up the stairs. Melly and I chuckled at how impatient they were. I rolled my eyes, considering how early it was I was the only one awake in the house. I grabbed my backpack swiftly before walking toward Melly.
"I guess we should get going?" I told her with a small smile. she nodded in agreement before opening the door.
"Yea. Probably." she half whispered as we made our way down. I spotted Nathan standing by the front door. I half jogged over and hugged him.
"Mornin' love." I said kissing his cheek.
"That's all I get?" he asked me, sticking out his lower lip into a pout. I giggled before reaching up to kiss him. he smiled and quickly kissed back. I smiled before looking at Destrey.
"What's up des?" I said hugging him from the side, and catching a glimpse of Melly opening the front door.
"Good! What about you?" He responded while picking up my bag, hauling it outside to the car. I followed close behind before a pair of arms pulled me backwards. I could feel his breath tickle my neck, and I turned around to look up at those beautiful grey eyes.
"Nate, we have to g-" he cut me off by pressing his lips to mine. I smiled shyly before pulling back, then meeting his eyes.
"You think your slick huh?" I asked him as I put my hands on my hips. He chuckled, releasing me and making his way to the car. We all climbed in the car, and started our journey to Crystal falls. The car ride was about 5 hours, so I gave Nate a headphone and turned on some music. I held onto his hand, tapping one of my fingers to the music. I could feel the cool air seeping through the open windows. I scrunched up on of my sweater sleeves in my free hand, watching the scenery fly by as we drove countless miles to the canpsite. The drive was all city right now, but soon enough would turn into beautiful scenery and rushing waters. The thought of camping with Nate and my new friends warmed my heart. I looked at Nate who smiled down at me, then I returned my attention to the window.

-4 hours later-
"Babe are we there yet?" I heard Melly complain from the front seat. Destrey held her hand, and kissed the top of it.
"Almost sweetie." he stated while turning onto another road.
I turned my attention to Nate who was laying his head in my lap. I stroked his hair gently as he tightened his grip on my other hand. I thought it was cute how he lightly snored, he brought a smile to my face. I watched him stir, lightly sitting up.
"Babe how long was I out?" he asked me, his voice tired and raspy. I kissed his cheek a few times before answering.
"About 3 hours." I smiled and kept scrolling through tumblr. I felt his arm go around my shoulders as Destrey stopped the car.
"And we are here!" he cheered stepping out of the car. I stepped onto the dirt, and took in the smell of pine trees. I couldn't remember the last time I had been camping, so I was happy to take in the experience all over again. I watched as the boys unloaded the car, while Melly and I set up the gigantic tent that was made to house around ten people. It didn't take long before everything was set up. I sat down on a log, taking a sip of water. So far I was hungrier than Kanadae on Christmas morning, and that's saying something. I could hear nothing but the sounds of birds, rushing water, and the wind flowing by. This was peaceful, perfect. I could feel my smile growing, and I had Nate to thank for it.
