" Wow. this school is bloody massive." I mumbled getting out of the car, looking in astonishment at the school which looked like a bloody castle. The only problem was, Arlington was in the British countryside, basically in the middle of nowhere.

"Ella." my shoulders slouched as I looked back at Steph and her mum. Dad was too busy working he didn't even bother saying goodbye, only receiving a call from his secretary about me representing his image.

"Why can't you come here with me," I mumbled like a little kid pulling Stephanie into a bone-crushing hug.

"Believe me. I need a break from you boy all that trouble I got in because of you." Rolling my eyes at my idiot of a friend, I turn to Ms Summers, Steph's mum pulling her into a hug.

"You are the most beautiful person I've met darling inside and out. I'm so proud of you, and don't you let this place change that ok." Nodding not finding it in myself to speak, I smiled at the wonderful women who were more my mother than anyone else.

"Robert..." Before I could utter a word the middle-aged man pulled me into a hug causing me to chuckle.

" We will all miss you, Ms Ella," Robert added with his thick French accent.

"You are going to call and meet us. I swear Eleanor if you cut ties, I will come all the way here and drag you back to France." With one final hug from Steph, I followed one of the school students inside the school. I felt guilty for not paying much attention to her but a reassuring smile from her made that feeling disappear all of a sudden.

"My name is Elextra I'm one of the school council members. Nice to meet you, Eleanor..."

"oh, I like to be called Ella."

"very well Ella. Follow me we are very excited to have another heir join us here at Arlington..."  Elextra went on about the school as if she memorised the whole school prospectus. I noded not finding myself paying any attention to her talks.

"Ok well now that the boring talk is out of the way. Let's get to the fun part." Elextra clapped her hands her face suddenly beaming catching me out of surprise.

"We have parties...any kind from formal to informal with alcohol and all." My eyebrows rose in surprise not expecting what she just said.

"Oh and during the weekends you can leave school premises as well as after class finishes but on the weekdays you have to be back by 10." All the while I was looking in awe at the interior of the building.

"well here's the school map, which you won't get your way around so don't bother and your dorm key. Your luggage will be there already by the time we finish with the tour. So what do you wanna see first..." Elextra's right eyebrow rose in expectation as she waited for me to choose.

"Canteen I'm starving," I mumbled putting everything into my rucksack. With a tug from my arm, Elextra dragged me towards the direction of the canteen explaining everything on the way.

"So basically, there are certain groups in this school. The richest heirs that include most of the hot guys and me, of course, oh and you obviously. Then there's the new money, people who just got into the upper class but were originally middle class because of daddy's one-time success. Oh and finally the scholarship kids." Elextra spat the last part, not liking her tone my eyes scrunched in confusement.

"Here we are."  to say I was amazed was an understatement, I was astonished at the succulent smells and the amazing canteen in front of me. Everything about it was luxurious and I felt myself nearly squealing in delight. After pilling up my plate with anything I could get my hand on, I followed Elextra to a table, which was already occupied by two people, who I'm guessing is her friend. The blonde girl, held her self with confidence and authority as she scanned me up and down, her face scrunching a bit but when she noticed me staring at her with my eyebrows raised her distaste expression soon turned into a fake smile. The boy didn't pay any attention to anyone as he continued to play around with his food.

"Guys this is Ella. Ella this is Chloe and Ryan." Both stared at me with wide eyes as I sat down awkwardly, staring around the canteen.

"Shit. It's you no offence I wasn't expecting you to be her." Rolling my eyes I soon hated the company. Chloe's eyes soon moved to my plate, her eyebrow raised in astonishment and disgust.

"So Ella how you finding it so far." Ryan cut in awkwardly, nudging Chloe, who once again gave me a fake smile.

"It's ok." I shrugged shoving the pasta salad in my mouth. Elextra began talking to Chloe and soon I found myself spacing out my gaze suddenly falling on a girl walking with her head down clutching the tray for dear life.

"Wow, seriously can she get more annoying. I made it clear to the bitch to stay out of the canteen and now look. The gut of this girl." Chloe seethed, it seemed, however, that I was the only one offended by her statement at the table. Pushing her seat back with a forceful push, Chloe got up abruptly and it happened so suddenly, the girl being pushed to the floor her food now all over her hair and face. Not one person got up to object to what just happened, as the girl stayed sitting on the floor her head down not daring to look up at Chloe, who stood up with authority almost as she was some powerful person.

" How many times do I have to tell you huh." My gaze left the two and landed on Ryan and Elextra who stared at the scene with amusement.

" What the hell." It was me who now stood up walking to Chloe with anger and disgust. Chloe looked taken back but stood her ground. I wanted to punch the smirk off her face but refrained myself as I kneeled down, towards the girl on the floor, whose glassy eyes stared at me in astonishment. I brushed off some food from her hair but the sticky sauce stayed on her hair refusing to budge.

"Ella. Why the hell are you helping this low life? Do you know she's one of the scholarship fools..."

"For fuck's sake shut up before I punch your face." I seethed as I pulled the girl up, glaring at Chloe with clenched fists. With a scoff, Chloe stepped forward as if challenging me.

" I'm gonna let this one slide, since your new," Chloe spoke calmly, I could feel everyone staring at me as I took a step forward almost spitting out the next words.

"Actually I'm going to let this slide because the next time... well let's just hope there isn't the next time." taking the girls hand I stormed out of the canteen not waiting for Chloe's response.

"You ok." The girl stared at me with wide eyes as we stepped into the toilet. Nodding her head she started to rub everything off her clothes with a wet towel.

"Thank you for helping me. I'm Lotus." her words holding sincerity.

" You don't need to thank me..."

" You know Chloe is going to mess with you along with all her friends, they will ruin your life like they do to me. That's why no one has ever helped us," she spoke worriedly.

" Don't worry about me I can handle her. Trust me. By the way, I think you should get a change of clothes. That won't come off." Lotus stared at me stopping her actions and nodded as she picked up her bag and followed me out of the toilet. There was one thing I was certain of and that was the fact that I wasn't going to be joining Chloe's group at all.
