Chapter 8

" Ella stop worrying. Nothing happened, when Sebastian dragged you out of the canteen. They just got up and left. I promise." Lotus lied staring at me with a reassuring smile as if that smile would get rid of all the bad in the world.

"Where's Jack?" Lotus's posture suddenly went stiff. Her mouth opened but my scrutinising stare caused her to snap her mouth shut. Her lies were not working and she knew it. I had my answer instantly and suddenly felt stupid and helpless. 

"Where is he Lotus...."

"Please don't ask me, Ella. I promised him I won't let you know." Lotus looked up at me with a soft expression as she took hold of my hand reassuringly, the gesture suddenly confusing me.

" Sebastian's group. They are not good people Ella. If you try and defy them...they... they will ruin you." Lotus looked away as if it broke her just saying those words. She repeated something under her breath, her eyes scrunching to stop the tears from spilling out. Anger. I felt it take over me as I stepped away from Lotus. 

" He's a monster. I can't believe for a second there I felt like he.... like he was just." I couldn't finish my sentence. I knew at that moment that Jack was the punching bag of the school. 

"Where Lotus?" Lotus looked at me shocked but refused to say anything. She suddenly looked at her watch and then back at me.

"Just two more minutes," Lotus whispered helplessly. 

"LOTUS." My eyes widened at her behaviour and before she could say anything, I turned my back to her walking out of the building. I wandered the school field helplessly. Different emotions taking over me, my breath was irregular and I knew I was going to break down and scream.  The realisation suddenly hit me as I found myself running to my dorm room. There was only three dorms on my floor and one of them, I was sure was Sebastian's.

'two minutes'. Lotus's words repeated in my head as my legs started working harder to reach the destination. When I finally stood in front of Sebastian's dorm, breathlessly- I knew I was too late. But I had so much anger inside me it was begging to be unleashed. I knocked aggressively waiting for the door. 

The door was pulled open harshly. My eyes widened in shock as I now faced the last person I expected to be in Sebastian's dorm. Xavier looked at me confused before scoffing, my eyes caught onto Jack, whose gaze was on me, begging for me to turn around and leave. Xavier, waited for me to say something but instead, I barged into the room ignoring Jack's plea for me to leave.

Ryan smirked at me, his hands were fisted as if ready to punch Jack. Chloe sat in the corner her gaze snapped to me for a second before she resumed looking at her phone. Uninterested in whatever was going on.

" Ella... please leave." My gaze snapped to Jack who struggled to get up off the floor.

"Shut the hell up." It was Xavier who yelled behind me causing me to jump in fear at his tone. Ryan caught my actions, a smirk taking over his features. I refused to say anything as I walked towards Jack. I got hold of his arm pulling him up and allowing him to balance his weight on my shoulders. Jack's face was a mess and the way he was holding his abdomen, I knew that his face wasn't the only part that suffered the damage.

" Did I give you permission to take him." Xavier now stood in front of me shoving Jack off me, only for Jack to hiss in pain from the violent shove. Taking a deep breath, I met Xavier's challenging gaze.

" maximum of five years," I mumbled as a confused Xavier stared back at me. Shoving him back, I looked at Ryan smirking.

" How great would it be for the West Corporation, if the world finds out that Xavier West alongside his best friend Ryan is in prison for beating up a fellow student."  Taking steps towards Xavier, I smiled menacingly.

" You're both 18 right?" Xavier and Ryan stared at me in shock.

" That's great. Both of you are going to be trialled as adults. Since you think of yourself as great men with so much fucking power. Let see how many days you will last in prison. I heard prisoners are ruthless bullies." I poked Xavier's shoulder fiercely.

"Especially to rich white men." I snarled shoving Xavier with one last push. Silence. Chloe no longer stared at her phone, her eye's stared at me in shock. Ryan gulped moving out of my way, as I once again grabbed Jack, who remained silent.

" BTW. If you think I don't have enough proof to bring a case against both of you. Think again. There are at least 20 camera's that recorded Jack walking into this room and now he's going to leave this room and the camera is going to catch his bruised state. Who do you think the Jury is going to believe. Your daddy can hire the best lawyers but it won't do much. So let this be the final warning, any of you fucking fools lay a hand on Lotus and Jack or as a matter of fact any scholarship kid. I'm going to ruin each one of you."
