The Seven Souls Fall ~DISCONTINUED~

The Road Trip

I was not excited. For the first time in forever, my family was leaving the small town we lived in just to go see a mountain. Not only was the mountain known for people disappearing and never returning, but it was also known for having the WORST service. 

This was not the vacation I wanted. 

When my family got to the hotel, I continued not to be impressed. The hotel was so small that it would be considered a motel if it wasn't for the extra floor. I unloaded my one, small bag and went for the door. At the service area, there was no line-up. Just a teenager who looked like she was too pretty to be working.  What a surprise.

"Um...excuse me?" I asked, trying to catch the girls eyes. She obviously saw me, but she refused to answer. I had short temper.

"EXCUSE ME!" I screamed, slamming my hands on the counter. The girl looked startled and almost fell out of her seat.  "What do you want?" The girl FINALLY asked, rolling her eyes. I rolled my eyes back. 

"I'm looking for the room I reserved under Sushen. Can I PLEASE have the key?" I asked, trying to calm down. I was lucky my parents were still unloading their bags, I would be scolded otherwise. The girl typed something into her computer, then handed me the room key for 207. As I left, I could hear the girl muttering underneath her breath. It took a lot for me to stay calm.

                                    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~The Next Day~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"I DON'T WANT TO DO THIS!" I cried, as my dad drove me to the mountain explorer center.

"Well, you have too. You've been driving me and your mother nuts every time you get a call from school saying you lost you're temper again. It's time for us to relax and you to get some fresh air!" my dad explained. I had been getting in trouble a lot lately, but it was probably because the people there are crazy! 

"But daaaaaad...!" I whined. "NOT BUTS! You are going to the mountain and I don't want to hear another word from you!" My dad snapped. I kept quiet, knowing when my father's temper was cutting loose. 

Soon, we arrived to the mountain center. The elderly woman who worked at the front desk seemed tired and withered, looking like she lived at her job all her life. I felt bad for her, and even more sorry when she saw who was taking me up the mountain. It was a teenager, about the same age as the girl who worked at the front desk back at the hotel, but they looked like they would never be friends. This teenager looked like she was going through her 'goth' stage, with black hair, skull shirts, and lip piercings. She stared at me for a while, as if deciding how she would kill me. It gave me the shivers. 

"U-um...hi...?" I said, her shaking hand outstretched for a handshake. My father had already left, so he was unable to see the girl roll her eyes and leave my hand there.  "Follow me." The teenager said curtly. I followed her to the edge of the mountain, 6 other children already waiting to begin the trek. 

"Alright, since I don't care about your names and I think you don't care about mine-I'll give you all different names. Including me. My name is Black." The teenager said in a monotone. She pointed to every kid, giving them trait nicknames.

"You're Kindness, you're Integrity, you're Bravery, you're Justice, you're Patience, you're Perseverance" She droned on, not stopping for repetition .

"and you," Black said, pointing to me "are Determination." I shrugged okay and we began the climb.

                                                                      ~TIME SKIP~

We had lost our guide, but I don't think anyone missed her. I tried to strike up a conversation with the other kids, and discovered a couple things about them.

Kindness loved to bake, and cook, and really cared about the environment and his friends. He seemed innocent but naive. He brought an apron, for some odd reason.

Integrity loved to dance, and wore her tutu and ballet slippers everywhere. It made her go really fast, climbing up the rocks with such ease it made me jealous.

Bravery wore boxing gloves, saying that if the rumors about monsters being trapped underground was true-he'd beat them all up. But it's just a rumor, and it's not true. He is really full of himself.

Justice seemed a little silent, and refused to talk to me, until I asked her about the gun and cowboy hat she brought along. She said her father was a hunter and she wanted to be a cowgirl. That's all she told me. 

Patience was a very small girl who had an army knife her parents made her bring. She had her hair up in a bow and was Kindness's little sister.

Perseverance brought his book, and wore these giant purple glasses. He seemed to know a lot of information and wanted to share it with me...but I didn't listen to most of what he said. I think he was talking about monsters. What is up with everybody believing in those rumors these days?

I didn't bring anything, but if i'd known it was show-and-tell I would have brought my dog plush. 

"Hey guys! Come up here, I think I found something!" I sighed and hurried to the top to be greeted by Integrity, Justice, and Bravery. Kindness followed behind me, helping Patience and Perseverance up.  "What is it?" Me and Kindness both asked. Integrity pointed to a large hole in the center of the mountain. I peered down. "T-That looks endless! And that's impossible!" Perseverance cried. "We should all back away, we could fall down and possibly die!" Bravery laughed. "I'm not afraid of some wimpy hole!" He got closer, until he was standing at the edge. "What the hell are you doing? You're gonna die!" Justice screamed, slowly coming closer, hand reaching out to yank Bravery back. 

"Wha-" Bravery stepped back to avoid Justice's grip, but his foot didn't find any ground to step on. "Wha-WOAH! GUYS HELP!!" Bravery called, his one foot slipping, trying to gain balance. It slipped on the edge, and his chest slammed into the ground before bouncing back and falling. Justice swiped but ended up putting to much momentum. She fell forwards after Bravery, both calling out for help. "GUYS!" Kindess called down the hole. He looked towards us in despair. "We have to go help them!" He said. 

"Kindness-thats suici-" I tried to stop him, but he jumped down after them. "BROTHER!" Patience called. My palm slapped my forehead as she jumped after him. I looked at Integrity and Perseverance. 

"Please don't tell me you'll jump down with them!" Integrity looked away. "Oh god NO!" She jumped. I looked at Perseverance. He was gone. "Wha-" I looked down the hole, and I saw the sun reflecting off his glasses. 

"You're all STUPID!" I cried down the hole, before a took a breath. 

And jumped.
