(Cursive writing is a dream, in this.)
Toriel looked at us excitedly. "Do you smell that my children? Surprise! I have baked butterscotch-cinnamon pie for you all! Since you are my guest, I will hold off on snail pie for tonight." Bravery covered his mouth and made a gagging sound.
Toriel went down the hall to the right, and we followed. "This is a room of your own. I hope you like it! I'm afraid I only have one bed, so some of you will have to sleep on the floor. But do not fret, I shall go out and get some more so that all of you are comfortable." Toriel smiled sweetly. What was a nice, old woman like her doing all by herself in a catacomb? Wait-aren't catacombs used to bury people who died in war since they ran out of graveyard room? I brushed the thought aside. She pat each of our heads, before noticing the burning smell I thought was my imagination.
"Oh my. Is something burning? Er- make yourself at home!" Toriel said, before rushing out the hallway. We didn't say anything, just looked at the door in awe.
"Should we go in?" Integrity asked. We still couldn't speak. Just nodded. She opened the door.
Inside was a room...that I'm to lazy to explain.
"I call bed!" Called Bravery, jumping into the soft mattress. Kindness glared at him.
"Shouldn't the youngest get the bed?" Kindness asked, pointing to Patience. I don't blame him, he obviously wanted his sister to feel safe. But, he had a point. Patience was the weakest here, and she deserved to have some rest so she could keep up with the rest of us. Bravery looked at me, as well as everyone else to see how I would solve this predicament.
"Kindness is right, let Patience have the bed." I explained why I thought so. Bravery shrugged.
"That's probably true. I'm so fast and strong-I don't need sleep! Sleep is for the WEAK!"" Bravery shouted, looking proud. I laughed along with everyone else.
Integrity yawned. "Well, are we going to go to sleep then? I'm so tired I could sleep on the flo-wait I AM sleeping on the floor...never mind. Let's just go to bed." She lay down on the carpet.
"But, you aren't 'going to bed.' You are going to sleep. On the floor." Perseverance stated. Integrity glared at him, before shutting her eye. Justice, Bravery, and Kindness also plopped down on the floor and fell asleep. Patience walked to the bed and lay down, dozing away. When I looked at Perseverance, he was surprisingly already dreaming. I smiled to myself, before turning off the small lamp in the room and laying down myself.
"Man, why do you even exist? Have you ever heard of KILLING YOURSELF? It would benefit your mental health!" He shouted, a sick smirk across his face. "Sh-shut up!" I cried toward him, even though I knew it wouldn't doing anything. "Ha! Look how weak she is!" One of his gang members laughed. "She's begging for mercy!" Another remarked. My chest grew tight when he slammed his fist into my stomach. I coughed into my hand. Blood. "D-don't touch me!" His entire gang laughed. "Guys, guys watch this!" He called to them, pulling my hair to force me off my knees. They leaned in closer, eager to see my face, wet with tears. I did not like these boys. I did not like him. I was not a toy to be played with then thrown away when I became boring. My face heated up. My fists tightened. I was DETERMINED not to show fear.
I was not afraid.
"I said, don't" I slapped his hand away from my hair. He let go, and I stayed on my feet. He took a step back, surprised by the sudden change in dominance. It was hilarious, for him to think he could simply run away from his sins.
"Touch" I grabbed his shirt, pulling him closer to me. My fist was curled up, nails digging into my skin. I'm sure they would leave a mark in my palm. But it was nothing compared to what I would do to him. I brought it back, aimed for his face. His eyes widened. He knew what I was going to do. So did his gang. Yet they did nothing to help him. Like nobody helped me.
"Me." I swung. And I hit. The crunch of his nose was loud enough for everyone who watched me get beat up to hear. I let go of his shirt, watching him fall to the ground. His nose was bleeding, and looked a little misshapen. The blood was spilling fast, into the puddle beside mine. Tears were forming in his eyes. He brought his hands to his nose. But they didn't make it. I raised my foot and brought it down on his stomach. He groaned in pain, curling into a ball clutching his stomach. I smiled. I smiled at the thought he was finally paying for his sins. Smiling because he was getting what he deserved, what he was meant to get. I turned to look at his gang. Each one of them had hurt me. Each one of them had tortured me, caused me pain. They would pay. My smile grew wider. Their bodies were frozen-paralyzed. They could only watch.
"Which one of you is next?" I asked, my smile creeping further up my cheeks. That woke them up. They scurried away like little mice meeting a cat. I walked away, leaving him writhing in pain on the pavement. The blood that had belonged to him was already drying on my hand. What a shame. Dried blood was always harder to wash off.
I woke up, startled. I was lying on the ground, in cold sweat. Everybody was asleep, and luckily I hadn't awaken anyone. I hugged my knees.
"I am not a monster, I am not a monster." I repeated to myself, rocking and crying. I breathed deeply, relaxing from my sudden burst of emotion. I lay back on the carpet, trying to forget the dream, and fell into a pit of darkness. Asleep.
