Chapter 36: Arguing

I entered the palace, shutting the door quietly behind me.

"Where have you been?" I look up, my eyes connecting with an all familiar one.

"Jay, we have to talk." I told him as I walk towards the dinning room. I sat on one of the chairs, waiting for him. He enters, his eye brows furrowed together.

"What's wrong, Clair Bear?" His eyes filled with worry, I sigh as I run a hand through my hair.

"I have to leave." I told him as look behind him, not wanting to look at his eyes.

"What? Why? You just got here!" He shouts, I look away from the candle holder and look at him.

"I think it's time that I take Nate to meet the pack. Plus I think I need to finish our mate bond." He looks at me with fury in his eyes, making me frown.

"You care about your mate more than me? Your own brother? Your family?" I sigh as I shook my head at him.

"Of course not Jay! I just think-"

"You just got here and now you want to leave? You have always been the selfish one, you only cared about yourself and never about anyone, including me! What did you do when mother and father died, you fucking ran away leaving me by myself. Now you're just leaving because of your mate. A fucking Omega, a nobody." He shouts as he stands in front of me. His eyes turning pitch black, his canines coming into view.

"Jasper! I'm leaving because if I stay any longer, my relationship with Nate is going to be ruined! I always thought of you when I was away! I always made sure that you were okay! I didn't run away! I went to go see who killed Mom and dad! I explained this to you already! " I explain to him as I get off my seat, my heart hurting from his confession.

"Ruin your relation with the Omega? How about ruining your relationship with your brother, your only fucking brother. The only living relative that you have! You could have taken me with you and not leave me here with strangers!" He sneers as his voice deepened, he walks over to the dining table and slams it against the wall.

"If I stayed here any longer, I know that my feelings for Jake will return. I want him to find his mate and live happily ever after. The only reason why I didn't take you with me because Jay, you were born to be king. I didn't leave you with strangers! I left you with Jake, Oliver, and Hector to help you become who you are today. My pack is waiting for me, their leader. You know You're always invited to come with my pack. It's not that far from here, maybe thirty minutes." I tell him as I hear my heart beat faster than normal.

"Jake found his mate. The mate is in love with me, making him feel unwanted. It was a couple years after you left. Her names Stacy Greenway, she's the packs slut. It was the girl who was on my desk waiting for me the day you came. Jakes been through so much, with losing you, juniper and then his mate who wanted nothing to do with him. That thing rejected him on spot. Believing that she had a chance with me." He explains as he scrunches his nose in disgust. His eyes back to the color that I got to grow up with. His canines no longer visible. My heart hurts as I look at him with a frown.

"Jasper, I can't stay for him. I can't stay just because his mate rejected him. I need to focus on my future with Nate. He needs to meet the pack and feel wanted." I tell him as I run a hand through my hair.

"Then don't stay for him, stay for me. Stay for another month. I missed you Clair-Bear and even crazy bitch Beth." He tells me as he walks towards me. His eyes shinning with hope and his lips hold a small smile. I swear he's so bipolar.

"Fine. Not a month but maybe a week or two. Beth is staying, I don't think I could survive without her." He laughs as he shakes his head.
Letting out a sigh, I sat back on the chair and staring a head of me. A few minutes later, Jasper grabs a chair and sits next to me.

"Clair, we can't keep fighting about the same thing. I know you tell yourself that you can grow to love Nate. To love him with every fiber of your body. Learn to love his imperfections. To be there though the good and the bad. But can you? The person that loved and still loved you is Jake. He was there when June died. He stayed even though you weren't speaking to anyone. He stayed after you ignored him while he was going through mourning too. I don't know how you feel but I can see you still love Jake even though you want to love Nate. I Can see your eyes shining with care when you look at Nate. But when you look a Jake, your eyes are filled with so much love that it makes me nauseous. Don't tell yourself you have to be with because of the moon goddess sent you him. If she sent you him, you would have felt what other wolves feel when they see their mates.

Love and possessiveness. I hate to be the one that tell you this Clair, but I don't think you can force yourself to love someone. If you think that was true don't you think that people wouldn't cheat or get bored. I'm telling you this because, I don't won't you to get or hurt the Omega. This is your decision and I'll support with whatever you decide. Well, I mean force my self to support your decision." He tells me as he looks at me with sadness.

"Nate doesn't deserve this Jay. He deserves a mate that will love and be there for him. He's been through so much that it hurts me so much. Maybe being mated to him can make me feel for him. I won't allow him to be in pain if I can do something about it." I tell him as I tug a strand of hair behind my ear. Jay shakes his head and he looks at me with disbelief.

"The worst thing you can do is give him false hope. Don't lead him on and end up shattering his heart. You need to know what you what before you take any action. Jake told me what happened when you went to his room. You can't look me in the eye and tell me you don't love him anymore." I look at him with wide eyes as my cheeks redden.

"I'm just telling this so you can realize that you still have feeling for Jake." He tells me as he stares ahead, staring at the family portrait. Of us and our parents

"What do you suggest I should do?" I ask as I follow his gaze. The picture of us and our parents making me smile. I love how professional we look and the vibe it gives out.

"Go on a date with him for one last time as see what happens."

IM SO SORRY FOR NOT POSTING!!!! SCHOOL IS HONESTLY SO MUCH AND ITS DRIVING ME INSANE. I HOPE YOU ENJOYED THE STORY! I NEVER NOTICED HOW LONG THIS STORY IS. I DONT KNOW HOW MANY CHAPTER THERES GOING TO BE AT THE END.
