Jason walks over to the dormitories, and already knows that Drew isn't there. Being the smart ass he is, Jason writes, “I'll be back” on his whiteboard by his door. With that, Jason leaves the building. He decides to go to the junkyard for a bit.
As Jason pulls up to the old abandoned area, Rachel walks up to a truck with Chloe inside of it. He lets them talk, and begins to walk around the yard, thinking about what he’s going to once he does get Merrick. If I allow him to live, more will die. If I kill him… will I be any better than someone like him? Sure I’ve killed in the past, but now… now that I think about it, I just don’t think that I cou-. Jason’s thoughts were interrupted by Rachel calling out to him.
“Hey, Jay! Come over here,” Rachel cheerfully says as Chloe gets out of her newfound vehicle.
“Thanks for that save in the office, Jason,” Chloe says somberly. Jason takes note of the tone, but doesn’t question it. “What did you say to Wells?”
As if he wasn’t listening, Jason responds. “Uhhhh… money? I don’t know, it took a long time.”
The girls laugh, and Rachel’s phone goes off. Jason looks at his watching, noting the time. “Hey, Rachel. Don’t you have a play to get going to?”
Rachel laughs, and blows Chloe a kiss. Jason just does a two finger salute. “Break a leg, kid.
As she leaves, Chloe looks at Jason, who had a nervous expression on his face.
“Uh… Jay, you okay?” Chloe questions, obviously worried about the boy. Jason looks at her and nods.
“I’m assuming that bag Rachel gave you has clothes in it. Fresh ones. I need to go back to Blackwell to deal with something. You wanna tag along?” Jason says as he and Chloe walk along to the truck.
“Yeah, why the fuck not? Let me change first, though.”
As Jason grants her the privacy needed, he sees a beat up RV pull up, and out steps Frank Bowers. Jason didn’t have a grudge against him, but he didn’t like him just because the way he looked. The two lock eyes, and Bowers breaks contact when he sees Chloe and when Jason sees Sera exit the RV.
“Price. Get your ass in here.” Franks voice sounded stressed. Jason also noted the tonal shift in his voice when he called him out. “Why don’t you tag along to, boy.”
Jason and Chloe enter the RV, but the overwhelming stench of weed, meat, and dog food spread across the vehicle.
“Jesus Frank, do you ever clean in here!?” Chloe shouts. Jason just doesn’t care. He’s smelled worse.
“Price, get the book from the back. And you… Uh, what’s your name?” Frank says.
“Jason. What do you need me to do?”
Frank stares at Jason some more, then recalls his face. “I remember you. You’re the one who fucked up those two idiots at the Mill. How’d you do that?”
Jason smiles, and replies, “My secret.”
As Chloe comes back with the red book, he tells her to sit down, and explains what needs to be done. Chloe looks a bit startled, but Jason doesn’t.
“Well, I’ve been needing to see North, so why don’t we do it, Clo?” Jason says darkly. Frank looks at him, and just nods his head.
“I’ll drop you off at Blackwell,” is all Frank says.
