Ezra was tired. He had been running for forty eight hours, all because he had been careless in being spotted by one of the thugs that accompanied Damon when he murdered his parents, and him. The fourteen year old was running, without food or water, and word had gotten around that his family was dead, including him. Fuck… I need a place to hide and regroup my thoughts… but everyone in the immediate area thinks I’m dead… What do I fucking do? Ezra sat down on a fallen branch, and thought how hopeless his situation was.
“If dad were here, he’d tell me… shit what would he tell me?” Ezra wondered aloud. As he spoke to himself, he heard the distinct steps of steel toe boots crushing broken twigs. Fuck… wait. He might have something that I need. Maybe I can get the jump on the son of a bitch from this tree.
Ezra desperately climbed up the tree just high enough so that he wouldn’t be seen. He waited about 5 minutes before he saw the man, who was now his target. The hunted was now the hunter.
The man looked around, and he didn’t see Ezra. The boy smiled, and waited to pounce on his prey.
However, the thug was just about to leave. FUCK! I need to do this now! Ezra pounced on the man, and knocked him off balance, but didn’t knock him out. “Shit.”
The thug gets up, and sees Ezra, who was smirking. The man charges him, but Ezra dodged the attack, and strikes a blow on his back, grabbing his knife. Ezra knew what he had to do.
Ezra charges at the criminal, and stabs him. He actually liked the feeling of doing that. It gave him a sense of revenge for his parents.
As the man bled out before his eyes, Ezra took his stuff that he needed to survive. He then smashed the thugs face in for good measure. “That’s for my mom.” He then again stabs him, stating that this wound was for his father. He had no remorse at all. He just tasted vengeance, and he wanted more. A lot more.
