Friends ||Xavier Coles

Dinner with the Hillers. We were invited over by Leroy who insisted he cook us up a feast to put the past behind us. James agreed stumbling over his words slightly but apologised for being an asshole to my father who nodded accepting his apology and the invite for dinner.

My dad sighed looking up as I entered the living room, a small smile lighting his face as he patted the spot next to him. I dropped my gym bag and school bag before going over "How do you feel?" He asked wrapping an arm around me. I shrugged not really knowing I feel.

Joel got 100 hours of in school suspension plus having to work an extra 50 hours of community work at the school helping the cleaner after school only because I pleaded with my father not to get the police involved. Callum had 100 hours community service at my fathers gym being a cleaner. So he will work everyday with me basically, as long as Callum doesn't talk to me I'll be happy.

"I feel I should be asking that" was my reply, which my dad rolled his eyes, "it was almost thirty years ago, people tend to change in that time. I'm happy to close that chapter and hell maybe become friends" Dad said shrugging as he stood up.

"We are leaving in half an hour" he said walking away, I huffed getting up and dragging my bags up to my room. I heard my sister sing purposely off key in my bathroom since hers hasn't been fixed yet. Ignoring her singing, grabbing some jeans and my baseball jersey. Combing my fingers through my hair a few times before walking back down to the living.

"Get a room you two. One with soundproof walls" I snapped jokingly at my parents, my dad sitting on the kitchen bench with my father between his legs. My dad blushed while my father glared at me playfully, shaking his head "I'v taken your Dad in every room in this house" my father said smirking, my dad groaning slapping his chest as I cringed. "TMI. That's disgusting " I mutter walking to the living, hearing my fathers laughter.

We drove to the Hillers house, which was only twenty minutes away, I had my earphones in blocking the world out as I got lost in my own thoughts.

We pulled up to a one story home, fenced front yard, with a few fruit trees growing. Getting up I heard barking before the door opened letting out a chocolate Labrador and a small Maltese type dog into the yard. I cooed along with my sister, as we walked to the fence gate, Evan running out grinning at me. "This is loin and mouse" he introduced grabbing the larger dog called mouse by the collar pulling him backwards.

"How fitting" Autumn muttered behind me as I opened the gate crouching down instantly to grab the little white fluff ball, picking it up and walking in. I laughed at the over excited dog in my arms as it barked while licking my chin.
"What a cutie" my dad muttered walking in as patting the white ball of energy in my arms.

After we greeted the dogs, we got ushered in to the house, Leroy greeting us with a huge smile that I swear doesn't leave his face. My dad instantly relaxing as he got pulled into the kitchen like two gossiping mothers.

Evan gave me, Autumn and my father a small tour of the house, which was quiet small but enough I guess for their family. It suited them, homely and cosy. "So yeah that's it" Evan said shrugging patting mouse's side as it walked passed. "Oh yeah we also got a cat, he's called bat, cause he is blind... as a bat" Evan said chuckling at his joke, picking the tri-coloured cat up off the lounge handing it to autumns waiting arms.

"How's school kid?" Jaxon asked sitting on the couch beside my sister, I sat in one of the recliner chairs. "I'm popular now, cause Jaxon Coles knows who I am" Evan said grinning, shaking his head, coming his hair out of his face with his fingers. My father laughed shaking his head "glad to be of service kid" he muttered.
