I hear voices.

Muffled.

Should I wake up?

Should I stay in this comfortable dark place?

Where am I?

Oh God, he took me!

"Genevieve," Cameron's voice interjected my thoughts, "Gen, it's okay, honey, I've got you."

I can feel my heart beat slowing with every word.

"Gen," his voice sounds... broken... scared even, "Gen, please wake up!"

The bright light is invading my comfort. My eyes are doing their own thing. I fight against awakening. I don't want to face Cameron right now.
But my eyes open anyway. His face is right above mine, filled with worry.

"Hi," I managed to croak. His mouth moved into a crooked smile and i could feel his hand carress my cheek.

"You need to stop passing out on me, I'm starting to take it personally," he grumbled good naturedly. I wanted to giggle, but i choked instead. Remembering my fears.

"Where's Emily?"

"She's with Mom, you were gone a while, and I got worried," he dragged his free hand over his face, he seems to have aged 10 years today.

"How did you know where to find me?"

"I remembered that you needed to get those blankets for Emily, so..." he trailed off, his eyes growing darker, no further explanation was really needed.

"I'm sorry," I started, I can see the accusations and questions in his face.

"My mother told me half the story," he said softly, I remember how honest I was with Doctor Alice, and now as much as I regret it, I can't change the past. "She told me that you would tell me when you're ready, it's been 4 months, now he's back in your life, and you-" he was broken. I see that clearly now. I betrayed him. The pit in my stomach grew.

"I'm ready to tell you now," I forced out. It was not what I planned to say. Not even close. But somehow my subconscious got hold of my vocal cords, and I can't take it back. The hope in his eyes can not be shattered now.

"Let's go get Emily, then we have some supper and we can go from there," he said softly, tucking my hair behind my ears and straightening up my dress. His hands leaving a burning trail all over my body.

I jump up quickly.

We need to leave now, or I'm going to make us stay.

I look in the mirror and confirm my suspicion, what a sight I was, my eyes are puffed up and my cheeks are blotched with angry red.

I was still deep in thought when Cam gently took my hand and half dragged me to the car.
