Today was such a struggle for Sam.

For some reason, her chief has been on her ass the whole shift. To make matters worse, she lost a patient today and it was a little boy.

She couldn't take it. She was so tired of everything. It's been such a long day and it was one of those days when she needed a good cry. She found herself at the hospital parking lot, crying her eyes out. She would usually call Jaime but she remembered how giddy she was about her and Anthony's date night as it was their anniversary.

Matt just finished accompanying her sister to his niece's follow up and his brother-in-law finally came to fetch them from work.

"Ingat kayo, ha!" They bade goodbye.

He started to walk to the parking lot to find his car. On his way, he sees a familiar car. No way.

He smiles as he sees the plate number. When he goes to the passenger window, his smiles fades.

He sees her head down on the steering wheel with shaking shoulders. She was crying.

He taps on the window and she sees him.

Her face wet from tears.

When she sees him, she covers her face.

"Open this." She won't. "Pakiunlock yung door, ganda."

She shakes her head but eventually unlocks it.

He pried her hand from her face, "Sam, Look at me."

She sobs and refuses. "Look at me nga, Samantha."

She slowly lifts her head while trying to stop her tears from falling.

From that moment on, Matt swore that he did not want to see her lovely face with sad tears.

"What's wrong?" She just looks at him, tears still falling. "It's okay, you can tell me."

"I'm such a failure, Matt. I'm—" she gives into more tears, shoulders shaking.

He pulls her in for an embrace. "Shhh... Sam, what happened?"

"Everything is falling apart. Tapos I-I lost a patient today, a little b-boy. Mistake after mistake, lahat na wala."

"First of all, hindi ka failure. 'Yan ang 'wag na 'wag mong iisipin, " he tucks in her hair behind her ear. "And hindi lahat nawala, I'm here. Then there's Jaime and Tony. But I'm here for you. Hindi ako mawawala, I don't have any plans of leaving."

"Stop it. I might actually believe that..."

"Sus, you go do that." He cups her face, "But seriously, think about what you have. You're one of the best doctors here, I bet, pero just like any other doctors, nagkakamali ka din. Hindi naman lahat ng tao perfect, 'di ba?"

"But still..."

"Hindi mo naman siguro kasalan that the little boy died. I'm sure He knows you did everything you could. Tsaka don't be too hard on yourself. You need to let loose sometimes."

"Matthew..." more tears fall but he wipes them.

"Don't cry na. Ganda mo tonight, sige ka diyan baka maging girlfriend kita ulit tonight."

She shakes her head.

"'Wag ka nang umiyak, okay? Always remember that I'm just here. Ligawan pa kita diyan, e."

"What?"

"Wala, sabi ko ang ganda mo." She chuckles. "Give me the keys, I'll drive you home. I'll just tell my driver to go home."

"Paano ka uuwi?"

"Di na" he gets a slap, "Aray! 'To naman, joke lang. Uber na lang or Grab. Tara na, para you can rest."

Halfway through, she breaks the ice.

"Why did you leave so early on Sunday?"

"Hindi ba sinabi ni Tonio? Talaga, oo... I had an emergency client that I had to attend to kasi we were processing a really major investment to expand but then this guy wants to be an ass and his advisors didn't do anything so I had to bring out my business superpowers." He replies with a wink.

"Ah, okay." She simply replies.

"I heard there was A LOT of morning karaoke and billiards."

"Yep. You missed out, Mateo." Mateo. Well, it's been a while. This stops both of them.

He clears his throat. "Sorry, nabigla lang. Anyway, I'm about to turn the corner as you said du'n sa tinype mong address."

He stops her car in front of the gate. "Are you sure okay ka na?"

"Yes. Thanks, Matthew."

"No worries. Paano, I'll go call an UBER na. Go inside and rest."

"Uhm, you sure you don't want to come inside?" She offered.

He smiles, "I'm fine, Sam. Go rest. I'll be home."

"Okay. Sabi mo 'yan, ha. Good night then."

He waves, "Good night, Doc."

They exchange smiles before she goes inside her house.

He hails an UBER with a smile on his face. Kapag sinuswerte ka nga naman, oo.
