It's a Friday but Samantha just got out of a 9-hour surgery and she is exhausted. She goes to the Attending's Lounge to change and finally head home after almost a 26-hour shift.

She checks out at the kiosk when a nurse approaches her with a lovely bouquet of flowers.

Tulips. Her favorite.

"Doc. Sam, this is for you daw po. It was delivered mga 30 minutes ago."

"Sige, thank you."

She grabs the card and reads it.

———

"Assuming you had a long shift as always. Figured some fresh blooms could make you smile for a bit. Kaya mo 'yan, Doc!

P.S. Dinner tayo soon, a? :)"

———

Fortunately, it does put a smile on her face.

Sam heads to the elevator. Once she pressed the button for the ground floor, she fishes her phone from her pocket.

———

To: M.

Thank you for the flowers, Matt. 😊
...
Will Sunday work for you?

———

"Flowers..." She hears Jaime from behind. Jaime takes the seat across from her, "Naks, kayo na ulit?"

"No. Ano ka ba? We literally just saw each other again like a week ago! After how many years!"

"Ah, okaaay." Jaime says with a a smirk.

Sam sees her face. "What's with the face?"

Jaime sighs. "I'll bet you my life, magiging kayo ulit. You're just both pacute at the moment talaga." She chuckles.

Sam looks at the flowers and shakes her head in defeat. "Well... "

Jaime's face lights up and points her fork to Sam, "Oooh, you're thinking about it!!! You can't fool me, Samantha. I've been around you for too long."

They share a laugh.

"Just eat na nga lang!" Sam says.

Then her phone rings.

"Naks! Go answer your loverboy, Doc Mariano!" Jaime teases.

She stands up and answers it. "Hello?"

"Hello, Sam?"

"Yeah?"

"So, uhm... the flowers."

"Oh, yeah! They were lovely, Matthew. You really didn't have to."

She hears him smile from the other line. "Well, did it work, atleast?"

She nods. "Yeah, it did."

"So... I'll pick you up on Sunday?"

"If that's alright with you?"

"Ofcourse! Can you text me the address then?"

"Y-Yeah. Will do. Does 7pm sound okay?"

"Yup! So, I'll see you Sunday?"
