Samantha has been a mom for almost a year and she swore she feels like she's still on graveyard shifts day in and day out.

Miguel hasn't settled down quite yet so he is still waking up in the middle of the night here and there.

Last night, fortunately, his sleep was uninterrupted. Sam was glad. Thank you, Lord. Kahit isang gabi pa lang na buo 'yung tulog ko this week, okay na rin. It was a Saturday too, no work. That's definitely a plus.

She gets up and takes a shower, keeping the baby monitor near her in case Miguel wakes up.

She gets dress and sees Miguel holding himself up in his crib when she gets out the bathroom.

"Hey, sweetheart! You're awake na pala," Sam picks him up, sniffing his cheek. "Good morning, baby! Sarap ng tulog mo kagabi, a? Hmm..."

Sam is in the middle of eating when he starts to cry, probably hungry.

She goes to him and puts him in his high chair. "Wait lang, Migs, a? Mama will make you food."

Miguel is now starting to eat solid food. For breakfast, she usually gives him soft fruits before he breast feeds for a little bit.

She set the mixed berries in front of him and Miguel's face just lights up.

When Sam giggles at this, Miguel laughs with her.

"Anak, ang cute cute mo!" She pinches his cheeks. But those eyes... those were the eyes that captured her heart ever since day one.

These were the moments that she treasured the most. Never in her life did she imagine being a parent. She wasn't going to lie, it is hard.

But it's this little boy that just somehow makes all the exhaustion and effort so worth it. Miguel is her anchor. This little boy is the one that she looks forward to spending time with every time her day ends.

"Miguel! Come here first!" Sam says as she chases her now 3-year old toddler.

"Mama, no, pwease." He says as he kept running away.

Finally, she caught him. She brought him up into the air and blew on his tummy, causing him to giggle. "Ikaw talaga, ikaw talaga, hmmm... Babe, c'mon, we have to change clothes kasi Mama has to bring you to daycare na. Mama has to go to work."

"Okay... pewo want ice cream, Mama," He says.

"Oo nga, 'di ba? Mama promised we'll have some this Saturday, when Mama doesn't have work. Tomorrow na 'yun because today is Friday. Remember?"

He nods.

"Oh, let's go get dressed, dali!"

"Okay, Mama! Let's go!" Miguel grabs his shirt and shorts, giving it to Sam.

She laughs. "Ikaw talaga! After I said we'll get ice cream, ang bilis mo agad!"

"What, Mama?" Oops, she forgot her kid doesn't understand that much Tagalog yet. He only knows a couple words.
