I stared back at her with a blank look. What does Luke mean he is going to go out of his way for me? His greatest challenge? Luke doesn't know me and I don't know him personally. But I do know him well enough to know that I do not want to be around him! He has a terrible reputation and he uses his daddy's money to get him out of everything. I guess I will have to avoid him as much as possible. Who knows what he plans on doing to me?!

It was then that I realized that everyone was looking at me, waiting for me to respond. I cleared my throat and nodded.
"Well I don't know what it means either. I'll just ignore him like I usually do." The girls gave me weak smiles and nodded. I looked back down at my salad and tried to finish it. I could only take one bite without becoming sick. My stomach was doing flips from the nerves.

Luke also had a shady reputation with girls. There were several girls at our school who claimed to have dated Luke and had their hearts broken. Some even said he had used them. I never saw him with one particular girl for any period of time.

He always had some girl hanging on him, but they were always different. Sometimes he had multiple girls in one day. I couldn't understand why he had all the girls flocking to him, even when they knew he didn't care about them.

The bell rang again announcing the end of lunch and the beginning of 5th period. Bella had Advanced English with me during 5th, so we walked together to class rambling about random events we had over the summer. We were able to pick our own seats, thank goodness, so Bella and I sat next to each other in the back of the room. Mr. Bailey, our English teacher, began with the usual lecture involving class room rules and procedures.
