"We will reach the island within the next few hours"
Zoro lifted his head to meet the gaze of the crew's navigator and nodded "Thanks, Nami"
The woman padded his shoulder, then walked off.
His eyes returned to his lap, where one of his swords laid broken, shattered in his last fight. It hurt him to see it in this condition. This weapon was not only a sharp blade to him, it was a comrade and its current state makes him feel like he had betrayed this comrade.
"I'm sorry" he murmured as he let his fingers glide over the broken edge of the blade "You will be fixed"
He had heard that on the upcoming island an unmatched blacksmith was living. From him he was planning to get his sword repaired, no matter what it would cost him.

Some time later the island appeared in the distance and as they drew closer, he was able to make out thick, black smoke that emerged from one of the houses' chimney.
The smithy, he thought and as soon as the Thousand Sunny had reached the harbour, he jumped off the boat.
"Hey, mosshead!" Sanji called after the already running swordsman. Zoro stopped and turned around, an irk mark on his forehead "What!?". The blond cook just looked at him expressionless, then pointed in the opposite direction his comrade had attempted to run off "The smithy lays in that direction"
Following the gestured, he indeed was able to see the smoke curling into the sky. He grumbled something under his breath and redirected his steps, while Sanji facepalmed and shook his head "Idiot"
Instead of running, Zoro had decided to walk this time and keep track on the black clouds.
Miraculously, he managed to reach the smithy without loosing his way a second time.
Hot air hit him as he stepped into the house, a bell at the door announcing his arrival. A rather young guy stepped in through a passage behind the counter and smiled shily when spotting his customer.

            This can't be the blacksmith
Zoro took in the boy's slender body and thin arms. Not the statue of a man that earns money by forming steel with a hammer and fire.
"May, I help you?" the boy asked and snapped the swordsman out of his thoughts.
"Yeah" he pulled his broken sword out of his robe and placed it on the counter "I need this to be fixed" "Oh, that's quite a damage" the boy rubbed the back of his head but as he met Zoro's stern gaze, he winced and quickly scrambled to the door behind him "I'll get my boss. She is the one to do the forging"
Zoro nodded and the boy disappeared, then he realized what just had been said. She?
Low murmuring of a conversation echoed from the other room, then steps drew closer and soon a figure emerged through the thresholds.
The swordsman's eye widened when the blacksmith stepped in.

A loud crash erupted from the smithy, then the door splintered and the tall frame of Zoro was sent flying through it. With a grunt he landed against the house on the other side of the street and rubbed his stinging cheek while sitting up.
"Zoro!" his crewmates, who hadn't been far, came running towards him but they slowed down as they saw who was stepping out of the building.
