Chapter 2
Cole's Point of View
"Seriously, Ashley. That's enough." I muttered. I was in yet another argument with my girlfriend of almost three years. Everything was perfect when we started dating. That was before my career got bigger anyways. Now, she has changed.
"That girl was all over you and you didn't do nothing about it!" Ashley exclaimed, putting her hands on her hips. I rolled my eyes. "First off, she was a fan and was excited about meeting me. Second, why can't you trust me?" I questioned her, crossing my arms. "I don't know. Maybe it's because you let all of these fans run their hands across you." She answered.
"They are FANS. They don't "run their hands" across me. They hug me, take a picture and that's it. Nothing else." I snapped. I then looked at her. She wasn't jealous at all. She was afraid to lose me because I had money. "You know what. We are done." I told her. Her eyes widen. "Are you serious Cole?! We've been together for three years almost!" She said, more in a yelling tone.
"The first year or so has been perfect. You have changed Ashley. I don't know anymore. If you can't trust me, we are finished." I told her before turning my back on her. I heard her stomp her feet and begun to pack her bags. We just moved in together a month ago. That was a mistake.
I turned back around as soon as I heard the door slam. I looked out the window to see Ashley get in her car and drive off. I sighed, falling against the couch. I looked around. It was too quiet. I grabbed my phone and hit the first contact.
"Hey, man. What's up?" Joel Hutsell picked up. Joel was my guitarist in the band.
"Ashley and I broke up." I announced.
"Sorry to hear that, man."
"It's fine. I need a drink after what happened."-----
Joel and I met up at the local bar. We were currently sitting at the booth while the bartender got our drinks. "She just went crazy after the meet and greets." I finished explaining what happened between Ashley and me. "Can I admit something?" Joel asked. I nodded. "I never liked her. Something was off about her from the moment I met her." Joel answered.
The bartender then came back with our drinks. I took one big swig and the drink was gone. "Another one?" I raised my hand for the bartender to come back.
Joel placed his hand on my shoulder. "You need to take it easy." He said. I looked at him. "Trust me, I will. I'm done with girls. I'm just going to focus on my career."
That next morning, I woke with a pounding headache. I rolled over in the bed. I sighed. I travel around doing what I love making people happy. You would think it would make me happy. I mean, it does make me happy. I'm just not happy hardly anymore.
After laying in bed for a few more minutes, I decided to get up. I took Advil and drunk some water before hopping in the shower.
As I finished up in the shower and was drying off, I received a text. It was from Marissa.
Hey! Are you still coming to Allie's party today? It's at 2.
Shit. I totally forgot. I looked at the time. Quarter after one. I had time to run by a store and pick something out. I quickly got dressed before making my way to town.
All I needed to figure out was what did a six-year-old like.
I mean, Allie had a cute and bubbly personality. She loved horses. I went down a toy aisle and hopefully find something with horses. I looked up and down the aisles before finally spotting something I thought she would like. It wasn't horses. It was a pink guitar. I smiled a little before grabbing the box. I'm not a father but hopefully I picked out the right present.
I ended up buying a card and some wrapping paper as well. Before leaving the parking lot, I managed to wrap the box up well. I wrote a small note in the card before sticking it in the envelope and taping it to the wrapping paper. I then placed it in the backseat and made my way to the birthday party. Marissa was going to kill me for being late.Chapter 2 was in Cole's point of view for a change! We also learned about him and his relationship problems. What did you think so far of this chapter?
