"I'll give you a choice..."

The day went pretty ok. Tyler and Seth didn't come to school at all but I guessed they didn't find anything in the woods either.

They also missed our test in Maths. Tyler would have probably failed anyways to be honest. It was around lunch when I got a text from Seth.

Hey, meet us in the woods. Near the tree stump xx

I guess they found something.

I'll come after school, there's only one lesson left anyways

Ok, don't forget!

I won't!

Last class ended and I started to walk out of school. I decided to drop my backpack off quickly before I went, didn't really need my chemistry book in the woods.

"Lily, where you going?" My Dad was in the sitting room playing cars with Mark.

"Going to Seth's house." I lied, putting my bag in my room and heading back out.
I wonder what they'd found.

Getting to the trees, I heard my phone buzz in my pocket. It was a text from Seth.

You on your way?

I quickly typed back that I was on my way, pocketing my phone and carried on walking.

A few minutes later, I reached the clearing with the tree stump.

"Lily? Lily!" I looked up to see Seth and Tyler tied to separate trees.

"Oh my god!" I ran over and quickly started to untie Tyler, since he was closer.

"Lily, why are you here?"

"You texted me." Tyler and Seth shared a look then turned back to me.

"Lily, leave."

"So soon?" The woman we'd seen when we were looking for Seth stepped out from behind a tree. I stood up and backed away. "You only just got here. Besides, I have a task for you."

"I don't want to do your 'task'." Walking back into a tree, I looked over at Tyler and Seth, who motioned with their heads for me to leave.

"Why not? I'm going to give you a choice." I thought about it for a second, doubting one of the options was that we could all leave.

"Lily, just bloody leave!" Ignoring Tyler, I stood my ground. I felt almost as if I was being commanded to stay even though I knew I should have probably ran.

"What choice?" I asked.

"Which one gets to die?" She moved over to Seth, running a hand through his hair, "I know this one would be heart broken if you picked him." She moved to Tyler, "this one, I'm sure, would give his life for either of you two's anyday." She smiled, patting Tyler's head. Tyler shook his head away from her hand and kicked at her. The woman stood back, a laugh escaping her lips. "A fighter. Just like your father."

"Shut the hell up about my Dad." Tyler pulled on his ropes, trying to get closer to the woman. She laughed.

"And just as stupid."

Tyler's face filled with anger. I hadn't known him long but it was obvious his Dad was a sensitive topic. You could even tell from Seth's face, which had turned almost sad but still quite angry.

"Anyway, Lily dear," the woman walked over to the tree stump, placing a hand on the symbol which was carved into it.

"Don't call me that."

She shrugged and continued, "contrary to what you've already seen, I like to think I'm quite nice," Tyler scoffed and rolled his eyes, "so, I'll give you a choice." She stopped talking, looking at me like she was expecting an answer.

I looked over to Tyler and Seth then back at the woman, confusion on my face.

"Teenagers," she muttered. "Pick one,"

"Why?"She sighed, "pick which one will live, and which will die."

A/N
Is there an adjective to describe someone who over uses cliff-hangers? I there is, it's me.
Hope you liked this part. They're getting short because I'm bad at planning and I want to write certain things in certain perspectives. When it's over, I'll go through and flesh out all the short parts to make them longer.

C'ya! xx
