"Seth!" Lily wrapped her arms around me in a tight hug. I lazily hugged her back, keeping my eye's on Tyler.
"So...you're ok?" He said, scrapping his foot of the ground and not making eye contact.
"Apart from waking up in the middle of the woods next to Margret's house, not knowing what the frick's going on and...what am I forgetting? Oh, yeah, seeing my friend kiss someone I'd told him I liked, I totally fine. You?" I tried to sound as sarcastic as possible. If there was one good thing about growing up with Linda, it was being able to perfect my sarcasm.
Tyler mumbled a reply and Lily looked between us. "Well, Seth's safe. Yay!" She paused, looking between us again, "You two seem to need to talk about...stuff." She awkwardly started walking away, leaving Tyler and I alone.
Once Lily was out of sight and earshot, I turned back to Tyler. "Well, how'd it feel?"
"Huh?" He mumbled, looking me in the eye for the first time since I'd walked out of the woods.
"Kissing your best friend's crush while said best friend was wandering around the woods thinking he was out of his freaking mind!" I raised my voice on the last part. Tyler kicked some grass, staying silent. "You know what? I'm not that bothered you kissed her. I bothered you did it right next to the freaking tree, right next to the freaking woods and while I could have been dead!"
"Well, you're alive aren't you." His voice was louder now. It scared me how much he sounded like his Dad.
"Yeah, but you didn't know that when you guys were freaking kissing!"
"Get a grip!" Tyler took his hands out of his pockets and stood up straight, looking me dead in the eyes. "You'd never get with her anyway--"
"Why's that? Because I'm--" I felt like punching him. That made me feel worse. We were best friends arguing over a girl. How cliché could you get?
"No it's because you chicken out of everything! Even if you worked up the bloody courage to ask her, you'd still chicken out." At this point we were both shouting.
"Maybe I wouldn't!"
"If you did, without chickening out, I think I'd die of shock." Tyler laughed.
"Maybe that wouldn't such a bad thing." I mumbled.
What am I saying? I felt like I was trapped in the back of my mind unable to intervene.
"You might think I'm a dick for kissing Lil', but what you didn't see was us looking all over town for you."
"Thanks. Really, thanks. Thanks for looking all over town and completely ignoring the fact I could be dead in the freaking woods!" I was glad the street was mostly empty because I really didn't want people to hear us arguing.
"Sorry I didn't want to find my best friend's dead body!"
"You clearly preferred making out with Lily instead anyway!" Tyler started to walk away.
"Whatever. See ya!" He shouted.
I stayed where I was, shocked. What just happened? Were we still friends?
Tyler's Mum was right about Ty being like his Dad. They both seem really nice but can scare the living day lights out of you when they want to.
I started walking home. No doubt my parents would ask me a million questions when I walked through the door. I guess Tyler went back to school, or the park.
Luckily, my Mum and Dad were at work. It was just Aunt Faye.
"Where the hell have you been?" She asked, he voice both angry and worried.
"Just...walking around."
"Well, let us know next time you go for a walk. Your Mum called to police."
"I know."
"Your Dad went out looking for you."
"Ok."
"Everyone's been really worried."
"I get it!" I shouted. "I messed up! I'm sorry!" I was more apologising to no one really.
I stormed up stairs and slammed my door shut.
A/N
So, something like this kind of happened at my school. I wasn't in the argument, I was the kid that watches going 'Oh shit' every time some says something. Then I left because I'd had enough, plus I was hungry.
Hope you liked this part.
I was thinking of making an 'Updates' book. Just for random updates about other stories I want to write and in case something's happening meaning I can't write so I can post a quick thing on that to say rather than putting it in here. What you think? Should I make an updates book?
C'ya! xx
