Back To Normal

When I got home, my Mum rushed out and hugged me, along with my Brother and Sister. Taken by surprise, I just stood there in complete shock. Lucas hated hugs, Alice hated me and my Mum hasn't hugged any of us in ages. Eventually, after over coming the shock, I hugged them all back. It was just one massive group hug.

Lucas told me about how I was on the news and they were all glad I was semi ok. The was some blood on my bandage that had leaked through and Alice asked about it. I told them everything that had happened then my Mum hugged me again. I hugged her back then went up to my room.

Seth and I decided to go to the big tree and have a climbing competition. We met there at around 10:39am and started climbing. Of course, I beat him every time. I always was the better climber, even when we were kids, but Seth had gotten a little better.

We were like that for nearly half an hour, climbing up as far as we could then climbing back down to go again. We came down for the last time and thought we'd go see if Lily wanted to come out with us.

School was closed today to give students time to recover. We were just using it as an excuse to be out of school rather than recover.

On our way to Lily's house, we rounded a corner and I bumped into someone.

"Sorry,"

"Tyler?" I looked at the guys face. He had a beard and brown hair that was long at the top and short at the sides. He wore a grey shirt and jeans with black shoes.

"Sorry, do I know you?"

"Oh, no. No, you don't," He spat out quickly, "I, uh, saw you on the news."

"Oh, yeah. Well, I've got to go."

"Of course, I'm glad you're ok," He waved goodbye and started to walk away.

Seth came up next to me as I watched the man leave. "We know him?"

"I don't know. He looks kind of familiar." I shrugged.

"Maybe we had him as a supply teacher once."

"Maybe." We carried on walking and I was unable to shake the guy from my thoughts.

He'd looked so familiar but also like a stranger. I don't know. Maybe he had a kid and they went to my school and it was just the resemblance that made him look familiar. Could have been one of my Dad's old friends. Even then, he would say he saw me on the news.

When we reached Lily's house, she was in the front yard with Mark. Mark's eyes lit up when he saw Seth and I, jumping up from the ground and waving ecstatically at us. We waved back.

Lily got up when we reached her and hugged Seth. Mark started singing that 'Lily and Seth, sitting in a tree' song, making Seth stick his tongue out at him, earning the same back.

We sat in her yard for around an hour, talking, playing with Mark. Lily's dad brought out some sandwiches and orange juice for us and sat with us for a while.

Eventually, Mark got bored and went inside. The rest of us decided to go to a small park near Lily's house. Seth ran for the sings as soon as we got there.

We were there for another hour, an hour full of Seth falling off the monkey bars when ever he tried them and Lily falling off the Pizza. The Pizza's is a little like those bowls that you sit in and your friends spin, only it's a flat circle on the ground that you can spin yourself but it's easy to lose balance or slide of it your laying down. We tried the zip wire a few times, each of us showing off some different way to go down it when it was our turn.

I can't believe, after all that, everything's just back to normal. Sure, people still missed the kids that died and everyone was still surprised it was Violet Lacy, but everything was over now and Violet was dead. Still, I don't know what happen when Peter shot her, or what she was doing when she disappeared, or how they managed to arrest Margret on suspicion of the murders, or how she and Violet seemed to know my Dad. Maybe I find out eventually, maybe never.

I'm just glad we don't have to worry about being sacrificed for some ritual anymore.

Seth, Lily and I spent the rest of the day together. Going to each others houses now and again for food or a drink, walking around the streets, being normal teenagers.

I guess that's it. This is the end of the craziness. It's all back to normal.

The End

I hope you enjoyed reading this story as much as I enjoyed writing it. The first prequel, Tyler and Seth, will be out soon, maybe today, tomorrow, Easter Day, whenever I feel like it, who knows?

Thanks for reading!
