I recently visited
A place I once knew
On days when it poured
On evenings when it blizzard
I would travel to a barren land
And sit alone
One day when it pelted
Much heavier then before
A baby black blob appeared
And sat on my lap
Just as soaked as I was
She curled close to my belly
Didn't even move an inch
When I wrapped my arms
Around her
We both sat in silence
Except for the roar of the rain
And her soft tiny rumbles
That warmed me
It's been quite a while
Sense those days all alone
That depressing bare land
Now overflows with life
The diminutive dark blob
Is now a big black panther
And although I left
She never forgot me
She showed me the way
To the place where I sat
When she showed me the warmth
In the days when it was cold
