Bea Messina
Reaching the cliff side, I pull up next to Ace's car and help Oscar down as he attempts to jump down.
"Can we sit on the front?" Alice asks Ace as he helps her out.
"Of course." He answers smiling, he lifts her up from under her arms and places her on the front of the hood. Smiling, I put Oscar up next to her.
"I'm gonna get changed behind the car." I say pointing my thumb backwards, they nod and I go to the trunk of my race car. I grab my jean shorts and grey tank top before changing quickly behind the car, away from prying eyes.
I throw my previous clothes in the back and put on my sleeveless, black hoodie with the cards on the back.
"I'm gonna go down and talk to Bill before the races, are you guys alright up here?" I ask putting my hand lightly on Oscars knee.
"Yup, I'm sure Ace can keep us company while you race momma." Alice asks with a bright smile.
"Yes he can. I love you guys, I'll see you after ok?" They both nod and wave while smiling.
Walking to my car, Ace follows me and envelopes me in a hug from behind as I stand next to the drivers door. "They're safe with me, I promise." He whispers in my ear causing me to smile slightly.
"I know they are, I'll see you after." I say turning in his arms and giving him a peck on the lips before exiting his arms and entering my car.
He stands back, arms crossed over his chest as I drive away, slightly waving.
I drive down to the track to see the light crowd forming, obviously there is some time before the race starts.
I quickly throw on my red high tops and put up my hood as I step out of my car. I walk to the back of my car calmly and open the trunk, flipping switches to change the 'mode' it is in. When I close the trunk again, I look over to the booth the rich man sat in last time, to see it still empty.
Bored, I lean on the hood of my car, crossing my arms over my chest as I wait for Bill.
Minutes later, I see Bill walking towards me. When I look around again, I see the crowd has grown a bit, but still not as much as I'm used to.
"Hey Blackjack. Good to see you actually showed up." Bill greets humorously.
"Yeah, I needed a good race. So how many racers are on tonight?" I ask getting right down to business.
"It's actually 9 new racers. All from the high school, they roll in some gang, you might know them. I wouldn't be able to tell you what they look like, just that they think they are that good." He answers crossing his arms over his chest.
"Well, they aren't from a gang I know, I would've known. So unless someone new moved into town, I doubt that part. As for knowing them from school, I'll probably recognize them from the football team, I better get my mask." I reply sighing a bit.
