"How old are they?" Kirk asks as he helps me pack up some things for my children.

"They'll be turning six in a few weeks," I whisper closing up Alice's bag. Nodding to him, he closes Oscar's bag before following me out of the house.

Walking towards the front door, I see the two men from before, sitting on the couch. I nod to them and they nod in reply as I walk out of the house.

Sliding into the car, Alice almost immediately jumps on my lap and wraps her small arms around my waist to keep away from Jackson. "Baby, I promise none of these guys will hurt you, they are good people," I whisper in her ear. She nods slightly and her grip loosens as she makes herself comfortable on my lap.

Reaching the house, I pick up Alice and carry her on my hip as I swing her bag onto my shoulder. Oscar jumps out close behind and puts his own bag on his shoulder, grabbing my hand and looking at the big house in front of us.

"You guys are going to be safe here, I promise," I say smiling and looking at them. They both smile while Alice places her head on my shoulder.

When we walk into the house, I see the rest of the guys lounging about in the living room. I feel Alice and Oscar cling onto me harder, scared to show themselves to the men in front of me.

"Hey Jack, heard you got locked in Ace's bedroom, is everything good?" Willis asks, oblivious to the two children clinging to me for their lives.

"Uh, yeah, Jackson, Kirk, and Matt came and let me out," I answer with an awkward tone, rubbing circles into Oscar's hand to try and soothe him. "Guys, this is Alice and Oscar, you protect them with your life. If anything happens to them, there will be hell to pay." I say in my usual stern voice, making sure they get the seriousness of the situation.

They nod their heads and turn back and continue watching the tv. "Who're all these men?" Oscar asks quietly as his hand is still tightly gripped to mine.

"These guys are my friends. We all live together." I explain, keeping the part about being a gang out, knowing the past they've had. "Why don't we get you guys upstairs into a room and get you situated?" I ask with a small smile. Alice smiles and shyly nods against my shoulder.

Bringing them upstairs, I step into the room across from mine.

It has two beds in the corner, one blue and the other dark purple, two closets and a door that leads to the bathroom.

"We get our own room Mommy?" Alice asks as she slides onto the ground. I nod my head and crouch down to her level.

"It's all for you guys. I'm just across the hall from you, so you can get me whenever you like, I'll always answer the door." I say with a bright smile.
