Two years passed in a bliss of colorful charades of memories. Traveling the world and exploring the likes of things in sights. One particular trip to the one and only 'City of Love' Paris, France, ended with a ring on Troye's finger. A promise to keep and hold a heart near and dear and never let it drop and shatter. A promise which both of them will fulfill.
The wedding was a quiet one. In the little park where Troye and Jacob shared their first kiss. And shared their beautiful laughing moments and romantic moments. They decided to seal it there and cherish the place like a child.
Only a few close friends and family showed up. Nothing big, only wanting to keep the beauty focused and the bondage of them two.
Jacob's father didn't show but a small blue envelope ended up separate on the gift table.
The words were not pleading for forgiveness but regret. Just regret, not sorrow in the slightest.
Dear, Jacob
Congratulations son. This isn't some apology letter to forgive me of all the acts of the past but I regret not telling you enough to help you out. None of this would have happened if I would have stuck around for you. You'd be marrying some lovely girl by now and I'd be in your life as the father figure you have alway-Jacob crumples up the paper and tosses it in the bin. He looks over at his husband and thats all he needs before he decides that yeah, this life is the best life.
His father can trip over a knife. Jacob wouldn't let Troye go for nothing. And Troye wouldn't let Jacob go for nothing. These are the times when they think, 'Thank god we rammed into each other on the sidewalk and changed each other's hearts for the better.'
And its pretty fucking good.
The End
