I woke up thanks to my lovely “boyfriend” who was making too much noise in the bathroom connected to my temporary bedroom. After attempting to fall back asleep multiple times, I gave up and reached over for my baby. No, not a real baby. My iPhone 4.
Realizing Michael was out the shower, I gave him a once over and did all I could to not roll my eyes. Perfect brown hair. Perfect blue/grey eyes. Perfect white teeth. Perfect tanned skin. Perfect body. This boy was not the boy for m--
“Baby, are you gonna call me everyday when you go back?” he asked before I could finish my thought.
No. “Of course I will baby,” I said and didn’t pay attention as he changed into the clothes he brought over to spend the night.
“Are you gonna miss me?”
No. “I’m gonna miss you so much hun, you have no idea.”
"Are you excited to go back?”
Yes. “If it means leaving you, I really don’t want to. I’d much rather stay here and be with you hun.”
“Well, we’ve tried talking to your mom Chanler, but I know how protective she is over you and your sisters.”
Thank. God. “I know hun. I really gotta finish packing up, our flight leaves later tonight so I’ll let you know when to stop by so we can say goodbye before I’m off,” I said and watched as he walked closer to my bed.
“Alright babe. Love you,” he said before kissing my forehead.
“Love you too,” I lied and watched as he walked out, closing my door behind him.
WELL. You may be wondering who I think I am getting rid of my oh so “perfect boyfriend”, where I’m going, blah, blah, blah. My name’s Chanler, and I’m a 16 year old, soon to be senior in high school. I know what you’re thinking, what the hell, this girl is only 16? Yes I’m only 16, I started school really early. I’ll be 17 in November though, so calm yourself.
Next, I live with my mom and two younger sisters, Annalise and Shauna. Annalise was going to be a freshman, and Shauna isn’t even in school yet, she’s almost two years old. My dad lives in Arizona, with his girlfriend and her cockroach children. I try to call him everyday, just to let him know I’m always thinking about him. My dad was always there for me growing up. And even though my mom was never going to forgive him for cheating on her while she was pregnant with Shauna, I would. Please, my mom’s getting married to the guy she cheated on my dad with when I was a kid, so it was even. Except my dad din’t know he was cheated on as well. Sneaky family we got here.
My mom’s job requires her to move all kinds of places for dumb reasons, so she’s just lucky we get to go back to where her fiancee is. It’s not that I don’t like the guy, Randon. It’s that I don’t like his son. Chase Romanz. If I could, I’d murder the kid. He’s cocky, arrogant, ignorant, disrespectful, and last but not least, my soon to be step brother. I’d have to go around calling him my “brother” for the rest of my life! What. A. Shame.
I should’ve mentioned this earlier, but I lived in four states in my 16 years of existence. I was born in Arizona, and lived there until my mom got pregnant with Annalise. Then the three of us, me and my parents, moved to Florida. Annalise was born there, and we stayed there until I was in the third grade. We went to Hawaii, and stayed until the end of my 8th grade year. It’s where I had my first kiss, first boyfriend, first date, first everything. It’s also where my mom decided to whore around with Randon. We came here to California, and that’s when stuff started getting bad between my mom and dad. Before Shauna was born they divorced, but I’m gonna shove it in her head until the day we die that Randon isn’t our dad, never gonna be our dad, never gonna replace our dad.
