Jhanvi parked her car inside the parking lot. She removed her seat belt and picked up her small backpack purse. After she wore it, she got down. As she walked towards the elevator of her building her phone began ringing. Knowing it would be her parents, she had assigned them a separate ringtone, she decided to pick the call once she was inside her house.

Jhanvi's apartment wasn't big or luxurious but it was big enough for her. She locked the door and removed her bag. Then, she walked into the living room and dropped the bag on the brown double sofa.

'Time to call Mumma and Papa.' She spoke to herself as she switched on the fan and adjusted the temperature. She moved her hand and pushed aside the curls that had gotten stuck to her sweaty back. Jhanvi sighed and dropped on the sofa. She blinked at the ceiling and took a minute to herself before sitting up straight and unzipping her bag.

Jhanvi took a quick shower and wore red nightshirt and Pajama. The shirt was oversized, yet she wore it because it made her feel proud and motivated. This was her shirt during her double X days.

She hadn't washed her hair so quickly, she tied her hair in a bun on top of her head. Then, she walked into the kitchen. She placed her hand on her hip and looked around searching for the coffee maker. Then, she recollected it was in the lower cabinet. She bends and took out the coffee maker. She placed it on the slab next to the stove.

Jhanvi hated her height, she was just 5'3. She frowned recollecting Eshaan making fun of her height. Often, he used her head as an armrest.

That idiot is so proud of his height – Jhanvi twisted her lips in agitation. But then, thinking about Eshaan a smile crept on her face. She shook her head and looked up. The top cabinet is above her reach.

She got a chair from the dining table and stood on it. She took out the pack of authentic coffee powder and huffed with a smile. She climbed down and turned around. Quickly, she added coffee powder and water into the machine.

After the coffee was done, she poured coffee into the mug. It was personalized mug. With the hot water, an image of her and Eshaan appears on the mug. Jhanvi feels this as her most prized possession. She admired his photo for a while before turning around and happily leaving the kitchen.

She carried the cup to the dining room and placed it on the small round table. Then, she walked into the adjacent room, her bedroom.

Jhanvi got her laptop and charger. She placed the laptop next to the coffee mug and plugged the charger into the socket behind the chair.

She dialed her parents via Skype and waited for them to pick up the call. A while later, her parent's face came into view. She smiled watching them press their faces against the screen.

'Papa, Ma, not so close please.' She suggested gesturing with her hand.

'Oh, yes, yes. Mini, little back.' Mr. Singh advised his wife.

'You too, Abhishek.' Mrs. Singh nudged her husband. He winced and glared at her. Jhanvi covered her mouth to suppress her giggles. She loves her parents so much. Watching them bicker like Tom and Jerry, she wished she could just pinch their cheeks. When the fight was getting never-ending, Jhanvi had to step in. Finally, the argument stopped.

'Guess what, Jaan. We have amazing news for you.' Mrs. Singh gushed, and Mr. Singh smiled nodding his head. Jhanvi frowned, nevertheless she looked excited. Her parents glanced at each other and then looked excitedly at her.

'You won't believe who has sent your alliance.' Mrs. Singh informed and Jhanvi's smile dropped. She pursed her lips tightly.

'Shivangi has sent an alliance for her son, Eshaan.' Mini smiled widely. Jhanvi's eyes widened with the shock. She looked dumbfounded at her parents. They kept grinning back at her.
