"Hurry!" Blackstar shouted as he continued to speed down the halls of the hospital. His movements way too advanced for Maka to follow. So she just stayed at her own pace.
"I-I'm trying, Blackstar!" Maka responded in a cocky way. Her skinny legs carried her swiftly, until she tossed herself into a hospital room which was full of very few people.
Those people were in a circle, blocking the view of something she wouldn't believe when she saw it. Something that would crush her.
"Psst, she's here."
"Should we let her see him?"
"Of course you should let her see me. Move out of the damn way."
People looked back at the scythe meister. Some looking worried and some looking unprepared. They looked back from her then to the scythe weapon. That is where it all went down.
"Soul?.. Ugh, where could he have gone? We are literally in an abandoned witch house." Maka limped around a pile of rubble. Crimson liquid splattered all over it. Along with some scraps of raw flesh. What a horrifying sight.
"Souullll!" the meister called out, cupping her hands around her mouth. Nothing. Her head tossed back in frustration, now continuing her walk. One more call for his name, she would take a break.
"God damn it.. Sou-" the name of her precious partner choked back into her throat. Everything around her stopped when she layed her pale green eyes on a limp and lifeless body laying on a broken stone wall. Nothing could take back what she just saw.
Soul Evan's body layed there with gashes that cut through his entire body, along with major bruises here and there. And maybe even some skin missing. This is the worse shape she could have ever seen him in. There was no way he was still alive.
"So-Soul...?" the hopeless meister whaled. Those anger and depressed filled eyes of hers stared down at her very trusted partner. Someone who she valued most.
Not a single wave length came off of him. His soul was unnoticeable. His presence was no more.
The two teenagers would not leave their eye contact. Especially the girl. He had put his life on the line for her.. no. Maka thought SHE had put his life on the line. Emerald met ruby. They wouldn't dare look away.
Everyone and everything in the room disappeared. This was truly a moment no one could forget.
Maka's eyes shook with worry and harm. She couldn't look away. Especially from the severe wounds on his body. A giant star shaped scar running across his first scar, a gash running through his shoulder and a cut on his chin. It was a miracle he was breathing at this moment.
The meister's eyes stung with tears that already began to slide down her cheeks. So much guilt and begging for forgiveness developed inside her.
There stood the one she had cherished most. The one who would do anything for her. The one who would put his life on the line. The one who they called Soul 'Eater' Evans.
