Ch. 5

I shook my head in denial. "N-no it cant be, he's my best friend haha.." I took a deep breath before throwing around some clothes to grab the tool box. "Yeah exactly where I left it!"
I hugged it keeping it secure In my arms, making sure nothing pops out.
On my way out the room to the hallway I run down to his room, imagining all the possible ways things could go right when I amaze him with my mechanic skills, the time we will spend together, the things we will talk about!... I didn't notice there was a smile on my face.
I shook it off before slowing down to stop at shiros door. "I-I'm back!"
As I looked up shiros smile went to a little surprised frown.
"O-oh..pidge umm.."
I looked over to the empty box then over to a weird looking machine, not too small but not to big either.. it shown a bright turquoise color coming off of a small crystal that was in the middle of it all. I set down my tool box in slight disappointment knowing that I wasn't needed.
"Looks like I figured it out after all"
He put his hand behind his head then smiled a awkward smile. "I just took out everything and I read the instructions..it was pretty easy, despite me reading it.."
I gave out a small sigh stepped forward getting a closer look at the machine. Hiding the fact that I felt a little betrayed I looked up at him and gave him a soft expression"I'm so proud of you, I can't believe you did it all by yourself..haha, I didn't think you'd do it" I smirked giving a hint of tease.
He chuckled "well, I only learned from the best didn't I?" Shiro put his hands on his hips and gave me a wink teasing back.
My heart started pumping again.
I playfully punched his chest hoping he wouldn't see my flustered face. we both laughed it off.
"Well sorry about wasting your time, I thought this would take a while to make, we didn't even have a chance to have a nice conversation..."
Our eyes met.
"Oh don't worry! Like I said I was bored and wanted to help out~ I'm just glad that this was easy to do.. I thought this would take days of putting together.."
Shiro picked up the thing and examined it before looking back at me. "then..would you like to come with me to test this bad boy out? It would be boring doing it alone"
"YES! ...I mean... yeah..sure.."
"Good! Let's go."
~time skip~
After asking allura to see if it's okay to leave to another planet to test it out we both agreed to go in shiros ship, I carried the thing as we slowly walk into his lion. As expected it was slightly bigger than all the others, more room and more nicely decorated. Climbing into its mouth I held onto the pilots chair with the machine in my other arm. As shiro sat down he pet the steering before doing anything else, which I guess it's supposedly to wake up his lion, I never done it before but I guess I Everybody have a different way to do it. It took a few minutes to get things officially ready before taking off to the nearest planet.
After taking off he let the lion take its time to get there. Shiro looked behind which made his eyes meet mine. "Soo.. if this thing actually works..what should we do with the crystals we find?"
I thought about it for a second. "Hmm...I guess it depends what type of crystals...but other than that we can always bring them too allura so she can use them.. and if we bring too much I guess it won't hurt to make jewelry then sell them."
Shiro pauses then looked back out to the screen. "haven't thought of that.. sounds like a plan"
There was silence.. I felt we both were trying to think of a topic to talk about trying not to keep things awkward but it just made it more awkward during the whole way there.
Shiros face lit up once we were able to see the planet we were going to be on "oh! We're here!"
I fixed my posture and waited for the lion to land. I guess I was pretty excited. I was looking forward to this day to finally hang out with shiro. To thank him for everything he done for me. I looked down at him, all I could see is the side of his face, he focused on getting the lion to land on a good spot.
"Here we are!" He parked his lion next to a rock then stood up to grab his helmet "let's get started then~"
I grabbed my helmet and put it on, "alright! Haha" it took me a while to realize that this could have easily been turned to a date.
"Oh boy" I mumbled under my breath.
