Third person POV

Sumire was walking over to the hall for basketball training. She was still quite upset that she couldn't play basketball for another two and a half months.

She wasn't with Akashi because she told him to go first because she needed some time to pack her stuff.

She walked into the hall and noticed that no one was there.

'They're probably changing now'

She thought to herself. She was getting everything ready when she felt a unknown presence enter the room. She whipped her head around just to see a tall person with silver hair. She didn't recognize him.

"...who are you and what business do you have here?"

"Huh? Oh. Who are you?"

The guy asked a bit aggressively. He slowly walked over to Sumire and bent down so he could prop his arms on her shoulders.

"K-kanade Sumire..."

Sumire stuttered feeling uncomfortable being so close to someone she didn't know. The guy only smirked at her.

"Oh, I'm Haizaki."

"U-um... can you move a bit?"

"Nope~ your pretty cute. Wanna be my girlfriend?"

He said making an unpleasant face and leaning in closer to Sumire making her flinch and tremble. His hands moved down lower to her waist and groped her. He slipped his hands under her shirt and slowly slid upwards.

"S-stop!"

Sumire muttered out. She was scared, remembering bad memories from her childhood. She was on the verge of tears while Haizaki just smirked evilly at her.

Suddenly, a basket ball hit Haizaki in the head making him turn around with a tick mark on his forehead. He was about to yell at whoever it was but he stopped at the sight of Akashi.

"What do you think your doing?"

Akashi said in a dangerous tone. Venom laced in his voice.

"Nothing."

He stated before rubbing the back of his neck lazily and walking to the locker rooms.

Sumire's legs gave out and Akashi was just in time to catch her. She was shaking in his embrace and couldn't stop the tears from flowing.

"Shh... it's alright now."

Akashi said in a gentle and comforting voice. Sumire just kept crying while Akashi hugged her tightly and rubbed her back to calm her down.

Akashi POV

That bastard will pay for what he has done. I thought with a glare but my eyes immediately soften when Sumire snuggled up closer to my chest.

I could feel her breathing and hear beat slowly calm down. I was also angry at myself for not being there to save her earlier. I knew something bad was happening and yet-

"It's not your fault Sei-nii"

"Huh?"

How did she know? Can she read my mind or something? I was surprised when she suddenly said that. Her voice was a bare whisper but loud enough for me to hear.

"Don't blame yourself okay?"

"...."

Even though she said that, I still can't stop thinking that it's all because of me that this happened to her.

"I was happy you came."

She said reassuringly and hugged me by the neck. Normally she wouldn't be able to do this because of the height difference, but since we were sitting down, she somehow managed.

"I'm sorry, Sumire"

"Mou~ Sei-nii. I already told you there's no need for you to apologize."

She said with a pout. She hugged me tighter and I buried my face in her neck. I hugged her just as tight and stood up while she was still hanging on to me.

I tried to surpass a laugh when I saw the position she was in. She was hanging from my neck, and her feet couldn't reach the ground. I started walking around making her flustered.

"Wah! Sei-nii! I'll fall!!!"

"You don't trust me?"

I teased. Seeing her like this makes me want to tease her more than I already do.

"I-I do... but...."

"But?"

"Meanie..."

"Haha"

Her reactions never fail to make me smile. She just looks too adorable that it makes me at ease. And just by knowing that I'm they only person she shows the expression to is me, makes me feel satisfied.

Third person POV

Soon they started practice and Haizaki showed up while Akashi was explaining today's training. Sumire was the first to notice before he even stepped into the hall. She shivered and hid behind Akashi grabbing onto the back of his jacket.

Akashi immediately noticed that something was wrong and glanced at the door of the gym being opened. Everyone turned their head when the heard the creek of the door.

They were all confused about how Sumire was acting in front of Haizaki. But they all felt a shiver run down their spine when then saw the death glare Akashi was giving him.

Haizaki ignored him and walked toward the group.

"Hey, chibi-chan. Your reaction just now was great. Why not ditch that boring guy and come play with me?"

He said with a smirk that made people feel uncomfortable.

Everyone (Aomine not included) slowly had their own ideas of what happened nothing too far from the reality. They knew Haizaki's personality well. Especially Kise.

Hearing this, Sumire only tightened her grip on Akashi's jacket. He felt this and reached one hand behind him to link with hers. Her grip loosened slightly and she gave his hand a tiny squeeze.

"Don't expect her to ever speak to a peasant like you. So back off before I cut you tongue and hands off."

"Yeah! Leave Kanade-cchi alone!"

Kise shouted.

"What do you say? Chibi-chan."

Haizaki teased completely ignoring the two. He was going to say something more but was silenced by a pair of red scissors slicing the side of his face before burying itself into the wall.

"Shut up. Know your place."

Akashi said as he stood up. He took his jacket off and covered Sumire with it before walking toward Haizaki and used ankle break on him.

"Your head is too high."

He finished before walking back to the bench to sit beside Sumire who pulled the hem of Akashi's shirt. He turned around and pat her head before continuing on with the explanation. He ignored Haizaki when he left the gym.
