Misfortunes to Fortunes (Akashi x OC)

Chapter 18

Sumire's POV

I woke up early the next morning and turned to look at the clock. 5:00am. I slowly sat up and felt something around me. I looked down to see Sei-nii's sleeping face while his arms was wrapped around my waist. I gently climbed out of his embrace and walked out of the room quietly. My bare feet softly padded along the stairs and I entered the kitchen. It was my daily morning routine to get up and prepare breakfast and lunch for myself and Sei-nii.

I made some tofu soup, rice and egg rolls for breakfast. After that, I made some sandwiches for lunch. By the time I was finished with everything, it was already around 6:30 and Sei-nii would probably be awake soon.

As I had guessed, I soon felt someone's hand on top of my head and ruffling my hair. I looked up and saw Sei-nii who still looked half awake. We exchanged good mornings and he yawned and stretched before ruffling his own bed hair.

I giggle to myself and tugged him towards the dining table where he sat down and I placed the food I made down in front of him. Putting on some tea for Sei-nii and coffee for me, I watched him eat as I took small bites of the left-over sandwiches from the batch I made for lunch. After handing him his tea, he sipped some and finally seemed wide awake.

Third Person POV

Akashi was now fully awake and he lifted his head up to see Sumire eating a quarter of a sandwich. She occasionally took sips of her black coffee and her eyes seemed to never leave him. He beckoned her over and made her sit on his lap.

"You have to eat more if you want to grow more."-Akashi

"...is Sei-nii not happy with how I am now?"-Sumire

Sumire turned her head down to her hands that were laying on her lap. She pouted and looked at her flat chest. Akashi sighed and hugged her from behind. He chuckled slightly and Sumire could feel his chest vibrate.

"...does Sei-nii like girls with bigger breasts?"-Sumire

"Of course not. Your my favourite person and I love you more than anyone and anything else. You know that."-Akashi

Sumire felt a tiny bit of red spread through her cheeks and looked back at Akashi. She turned around and hugged him tightly. She felt his hands soothingly run down her back and he patted her head.

"I love you a lot, Sei-nii"-Sumire

"I know. I love you as well."-Akashi

Sumire felt her heart squeeze and buried her face into Akashi's shirt. They spent a few minutes just feeling each others presence beside their own. Akashi made her eat some of his food before they both went upstairs to change into their uniforms.

Akashi's POV

After we got ready, We quickly made our way to school and it was soon time for morning practice so both of us walked over to the gym hand in hand. The others were not here yet so we changed and then started doing some speed drills and shooting practice. Coach Shirogane was the first here and he just left us alone to do what we were already doing.

Soon the others walked in one by one and all headed to the changing room. But for some reason, they all stopped to look at me and Sumire. We were doing some long distance shooting practice and I turned to look at Sumire who was shooting the ball from the other side of the court. She jumped up and raised the ball with perfect form and let go. The ball flew across the air while everyones eyes followed it as it landed perfectly into the basket.

I could see the others look at her in shock, not expecting a petit little girl like her would be able to accomplish such feats. Sumire, who was oblivious to their stares, shuffled over to me and looked up with expectant eyes. I chuckled and let a smile graze my lips as I moved my hand to place on top of her head.

"Well done, 20 out of 20 again today. As expected of my adorable little sister."- Akashi

I knew she liked it whenever I called her my sister. She said it was because it made her feel closer to me and makes her feel warm on the inside. She smiled at me happily and only I could see it since her back was facing the others. I gave her head a little rub and she leaned into my touch. I found the gesture very sweet and adorable, she even let out a small purr.

Third person's POV

Everyone came into practice expecting no one there, but instead, the saw the shocking scene of a little girl at the edge of one side of a court shooting at the basket at the other end of the court. This instantly silenced all of them as they watched her sink another few baskets. After she was done, she walked over to Akashi and they seemed to have been talking.

They were soon reminded of the incident from yesterday, where the Rakuzan regular members got beaten to the ground by the pair. They still could not believe what had happened but had no other choice then to accept reality.

The coach gathers them around and talks to them about a new school based in Tokyo that also has a basketball team. Seirin. The coach had told them to be prepared for an intense year of basketball since the other members of the generation of miracles are now out there. After the discussion, the others were sent off to do the 10 laps run but the coach told Akashi and Sumire to stay back.

The coach had told them that he realised that the run had no benefits for the two of them since running is something they did everyday anyways and their levels are way higher than the others. He also asked them to go and find out more about the new school. The pair knew that their old friend, Kuroko had chose to attend that school so they agreed to go and check them out some time soon. Coach Shirogane had already bought them tickets to go to Tokyo for this afternoon so they gladly accepted it.

The would have to leave school after their first lesson but Coach Shirogane already took care of everything with the teachers. They continued practice with the normal stuff. Footwork, shooting, drills, passing, dribbling and all the usual things. Training ended and they walked back to their changing rooms and changed back into their normal uniforms. Of course, Akashi made sure everyone left before locking the door and letting Sumire change.

Sumire slipped Akashi's hoddie over her head and they left off for their first lesson.
