Here we go everyone!!

Anika's POV

The wind whips around me, pulling on my hair and clothes. Letting go of the small handle, I stand to my feet, closing my eyes. Water sprays lightly from Yue Bay, seemingly making the entire situation even better.

I had always wanted to be a bender, yet the gifts bestowed onto so many skipped me, leaving me riddled with envy. While my brother knew of my jealousy, he never hid his bending, telling me that I had to get used to the fact that I wouldn't be able to bend and move on. He was right, as always, but a part of me wished I could do something.

"Would you get down from there? You know your brother won't be happy if you take a dip into the bay."

Stepping back into my seat, I roll my eyes. "Please, when are you the person to care about rules?"

Shin draws back on the gears, the boat stopping in the middle of the bay. He turns to me, a sloppy smile on his lips. His outfit was as blue as the water and eyes lighter than the sky, yet hi hair was like mine; dark.  "I care when your brother can easily burn an entire block down in minutes."

Sighing, I lean back in the seat. I was suppose to be helping Haydn with the chores at the Sato mansion today, but instead I was helping Shin with a job. "What is this job anyway?"

"Some boring rich kids coming out to pick up a package. Just some things from the old air temples"
Shin replies, looking over the bay. "They should be here."

Shrugging, I lean back, sliding the small machine Hiroshi had been developing privately. A small, almost unnoticeable glove rests on my hand, the hum of electricity running along my skin. "They better not try to play us."

Looking over the bay, Shin rests his hand in the water. A spike of jealously goes through me as he pulls out a small ball of water. "Who knows, Daddy might not have let them out of the house." He bounced the ball back and forth.

The hum of a motor echos, and we watch as a luxurious ship glides up to us. I roll my eyes in disgust, these really were rich kids. They're often the worse since think they are better than anyone else because of the money that lines their pockets. Cracking his knuckles, Shin grins. "Glad to see you made it."

Two lanky boys walk onto their deck, looking about anxiously. It was their first time. Haydn and I shared the same expression the first time we met the gang, but that was a long time ago. How did they even manage to hear about the Triple Threat? "Do you have it?"

"Of course" Shin states, holding up the package, giving it a good shape. "Now do you have the money?"

The two look to each other. The one steps forward and before I can say something, a blast of fire shoots towards me. Grunting, I slam my wrists together, the flames sliding off of the metal cuffs. The heat still irritates the skin, but nothing is burned.

"This will keep you safe from anyone who tries to burn you, Anika" Haydn smiles, his small hands latching the cuffs on. "Pinkie promise to keep them on?"

"Pinkie promise" I giggle as we hook our fingers.

"You just made a mistake" I snarl, easily swinging over onto the next ship. I don't look back but I know Shin follows in quick pursuit, the water around the boat shifting. The boys attempt to fight back, but my fingers dig into their skin, their bodies falling onto the deck. Rolling my eyes, I hop back onto my boat. "Rookies."

Shin heartedly laughs, money and the package in his hand.  Hopping back over, he steadies himself with a hand on my waist. "I think we'll keep the package for all the trouble." I nod as the boat roars to life and we zoom back to the city.

"You sure you don't want to come back for dinner? We're having a Narook bring over noodles." Shin asks as we pull up to the Sato mansion. "The gang misses you and Haydn. Especially Lightning Bolt Zolt, he talks more fondly about the two of you than anyone."

I frown, looking to the mansion. "You know I can't tell Haydn. If he knew I was back with the gang, he'd have my head. He just tries so hard to give us a good life, I can't ruin it for him, I won't."

"Another time then, just you, me and the gang. Don't let me keep you waiting" Shin smiles, leaning over to my side of the seat to hug me. I sigh, patting his blue covered shoulder.

Sliding out of the car, I give him another smile. "I'll see you soon." He waves, driving out of the mansion. I watch until the last bit of the red vehicle fades off into the distance.

Turning back, I let out a breath. Haydn would not be happy with me.
