The night sky had been out for a while. Y/N was on her way home, quietly listening to the soothing melody of crickets that were hidden around the area. It was a rather chilling autumn night, even though the season had only barely started.
Tightening her scarf, Y/N fastened her pace, looking forward to the warmth and coziness of her home.
The groceries she carried around in a plastic bag even unabled her to stuff her freezing hands in her pockets. Who would even expect to need mittens in early-September!
Also, what parents would ask their teenage daughter to buy groceries this late?
Then again, the already low crime rate had dropped in their neighborhood, and from next year on, seeing she would be going to college and live on her own, she would have to do it herself either way...
