Chapter 6

Listening to some music, Y/N went home from school, alone. The bus was quite empty today, she noticed. Even when she exited the bus, she barely saw anyone else around. That wouldn't have been as creepy, wasn't it for the fact that the bus stop was kind of far from her house, having her obligated to walk through the neighborhood alone, again.

It was too bad she and the others couldn't hang out today. Well, she and Sapph could, but they were an OT3, not OT2.

Okay all jokes aside, she and Sapph hung out often with just the two of them, since lately Ally had been so busy. It just would be nice to hang out with the whole trio again. Y/N missed it..

The song switched to one she didn't recognize. It sounded good though. She quickly took a look at the screen of her phone.
Ah, it was something from an album Ally recommended her. 'O!RUL8,2?- Coffee' it read. Odd album name.. It was from... BTS?

Ah yeah, she recognized that name! It was a Korean boyband Ally was crazy about.
Y/N heard the fanbase of the band was huge.
Of course Ally would recommend her their album.

Not that she minded, it sounded good! She liked, even though she had no idea what the dudes were singing. Whatever they were saying, they sounded convincing.
She could make out the words 'caramel macchiato' and 'baby baby tonight'.
The singers sounded so good, and the rap was amazing! She definitely could see why Ally loved them.

Something was off when she walked home though. It was weird, but ever since yesterday, she hadn't heard any crickets or even birds. As if they weren't here..

She took out her earbuds to listen.

Nope. Not even a bird. It was still fall, so most birds wouldn't go migrating yet, right? So why...

Ah! She heard something!

It was...
Growling?
No way... the wolves..!!

She quickly looked behind her to see... an unfamiliar wolf in the distance. Well, it kind of looked like the red one from that day, but this one had much brighter colors. Tints of orange, and yellow.

That, and this one looked like it wasn't just trying to get her to leave.
This one actually looked ready to come at her and lash out.

That was probably just her imagination, right? She hadn't done anything to anger it, in fact, she wasn't even near it!
Yeah.. It was probably just like the others: just cautious, but friendly never less.

She changed her thoughts when she looked back at the wolf and noticed its eyes, hostility and enmity etched onto its face. She flinched at the wolf's gaze. Its glowering glare had her petrified. Damn, the fluffy one from back then seemed hostile enough, but this one?

Slowly, she backed away. The wolf only walked further towards her, showing off sharp teeth.

Oh crap.

Running seemed futile.. but...

She felt her heart drop and froze to the ground in fear as the wolf now leaped towards her at full speed. A feeling of dreadfulness washed over her.
Why couldn't she move?
Why wouldn't her legs just..
Was she actually going to-

A loud howl filled the streets as the orange predator stopped in its tracks.

Y/N just dropped through her legs as a more familiar face walked in between her and the opposite side.

..

The chocolate wolf.

The two wolves had a stare off. It was like they held a conversation without using words, but who could say?

Chocolate walked up to Y/N, who was still sitting on her knees, trembling hysterically.
The familiar wolf sniffed her jacket, before nudging her left pocket.
Hesitantly, Y/N reached inside. The only thing still in there was the handkerchief that she used to treat it.
To her confusion, the wolf took the handkerchief between its teeth and ran off, leaving her with the orange wolf.

The fellow stared at her, before leaving as well.

Did it change its mind?
Did chocolate made it change its mind?
Why did it want to attack her to begin with?

Still trembling, Y/N managed to stand up and immediately ran to the safety of her home.
