Levi furrowed his eyebrows together and looked at the ground. "I don't believe that is the best of ideas, Y/N."

Any hope you had to return to such a mysterious place vanished in a second. The slight smile that you held faded. Nodding slowly, you also let your eyes fall to the ground. "I-I understand."

Levi let his eyes move back up to normal height. Noticing your saddened expression, he hesitated before taking your chin softly between two fingers. The sudden contact made you jump slightly, making Levi retract his hand. Your face flushed a deep red, heat spreading through your entire entity, as you made eye contact with him.

He kept his gaze on you, which made you shuffle uncomfortably where you were stood. "I'm glad you understand. I can't jeopardize the safety of the people just for one human."

The way he called you a human like it was nothing stung a little - you did give him safety after all. But, you understood. You were different, there was no way that you could ever be friends, let alone lovers. You shook the thought from your head, you had no feelings for him. How could you gain feelings for someone after a few days of knowing them? Absurd.

"It is what any decent prince would do," you agreed, offering a shaky smile of peace.

"Shall we go then?" He asked, holding out his arm.

You nodded and linked your arm around his.

It was unlike Levi to touch someone willingly. It wasn't like he was afraid of physical contact, it just didn't interest him. The most that he ever did was to feed...or to bathe Hanji when she was being stubborn and caught up in her studies. This was the most that he had ever really touched someone.

Levi led you through the various halls and showed you the different rooms of the castle. The castle was old and had been standing for many years. You were but a mere sigh in the lifetime of the building - you wouldn't make a big impact on it.

The walls were decorated with detailed paintings of people who lived in the castle in the past. There was a portrait of a sour looking man with little hair on the top of his head, it was all on his chin. 'Shadis' was his name and you had learnt that Erwin was his successor.

"This is our library," Levi announced, pushing open the doors to a grand room.

The room was massive with bookcases taking up all the wall space; they stretched towards the sky like trees. The open space in the middle of the room was filled with tables and chairs; some had books stacked on top of them, ready to be put away.

"This is amazing," you said in a breathless tone as you took it all in.

"The books are all old," he said, letting go of you and walking over to the nearest stack of books. He opened the book and turned the old, stained pages that crinkled as they moved. "You have much newer books."

"Books hold a history though," you added. Books had always been a big part of your life. Your father would only let you learn piano and various other things. Learning how to defend yourself was out of discussion, and so you filled up your spare time with books. Fantasy was your favourite genre. Surrounding yourself in surreal worlds filled you with joy. Your life, while comfortable and sheltered, was boring. You had always longed for something out of a fantasy book, and now you had it.

"You think so?" He asked, raising one eyebrow and looking up. You nodded in reply, holding your hands behind your back. "I try to read regularly," he said, closing the old book, "but I seldom get the time anymore."

"Levi! Prince Levi!" Someone yelled. They skidded to a halt as they looked in to the library. Turning around, you saw a young boy, out of breath and clearly concerned.

Levi narrowed his eyes at the chestnut haired boy. "What is it, Eren?"

Eren's turquoise eyes widened with panic, "it's the Titans!"

"Titans?" You questioned.

"Titans..." Levi growled. His eyes glazed over and his features shifted to show his anger.

"They're a pack of rogue vampires," Eren explained quickly. "They've gathered in numbers and are storming all the strongholds."

"So we're under attack right now?" Levi asked, his voice getting deeper.

"Not right now," Eren mumbled, "but Mikasa saw them. They're out in the woods."

You turned back around to see Levi with his eyes on you. His mouth drew into a thin line in displeasure at having to cut the tour short. His pale slender fingers ran over the oak table as he moved towards you.

"Eren, I wan't you to go and make sure that no more are lurking around here. If they are, tell Hanji or Mike and get rid of them. I have to take Y/N home."

You arrived back just before sunrise. The journey back was filled with awkward silence. You could tell that Levi was deep in thought and so you decided not to bother him.

He didn't stay for long after he dropped you off.

He jumped down off the balcony where he set you down. You quickly lunged forward, placing your hands on the stone of the balcony railing and you called out his name. He stopped and glanced over his shoulder.

"Will I ever see you again?"

He didn't answer you.

You stood on the balcony, alone.

He had just...left. He never gave you an answer.

Slowly, you pulled yourself away from the railing and stumbled back into your room. It couldn't all be over, could it? You had just been exposed to an entirely new world, was that all just taken from you in a heartbeat?

You fell onto your led and gripped onto a pillow, tugging it closer to you. Sighing, you buried your face into the pillow. Could you really just return to your normal, mundane life?
