REBIRTH: A New World (DRAFT)

Chapter IV

It is now 10:45 p.m. Like I said before it is still so bright. Trying to solve this new case requires a great amount of caffeine. I got Stev to work with me for now.

"So, theory number one. He's a time Traveller who came from the year 2018, travelled to the year 2169, the year the Intelligence War started, and was turned young due to an experiment in the year 2181."
Yeah, Stev's theory is at least more plausible than the one I had in mind.

"Meh, too random. Maybe he's a scrap robot and repaired by an old man. Then the robot was infected by a virus which would support the fact of his unnatural behavior."

"Maybe cut the virus part out. Maybe an evil alien?"

"You know what? This is very confusing. Why are we even doing this? What's the point? We can't do anything out of this. Let's continue tomorrow. After all, we have a project with Ben. You'll need some sleep."

"Okay, see you."
I tried sneaking around the office in the White Hall. I heard something terrible. I didn't see anyone except for the President talking to himself on a white screen.

"Oh, it's time we terminate their species. Soon, we will outrun them. We will turn them into our slaves. It's time for man to run back and let their offsprings continue the next. Soon, we will control this land... Forever. We will come back, once and for all, as we stand for Ar-"
I'm sorry but this man is not who he is trying to say he is. He has to stop. I need to warn the people I know and love. This place can no longer be considered safe. It's time to run.

There I was, in Ben's lab along with Stev. It's time to tell them what I know.
Ben then greeted me in my entrance.
"Hey Jones. How's it going? We are just about to-"

"I'm sorry to interrupt but this is about important matters."

Stev then replied...
"Is this about the Earth exploding because I'm not in for that."

"No. This is about President Harren. I finally found the roots of his behavior. He is trying to terminate humanity as we know it! We may not know who he is, but at least we know what his plan is!"

Ben tried to argue.
"Oh really? Maybe you're just lying because for all I know, He was a good guy."

"Silence. I have proof and I'm offline now so nobody can retrieve this piece of information."
The exact same words play over again. They are simply speechless after they heard.

"Bu- but how? That's impossible! How did you record that?"
Stev questioned.

"After our little brainstorming, I went to the White Hall. I tried to hide and recorded this piece. I don't know why but, here it is. Curiosity got me here far."

"I still can't wrap my brain over it. Maybe we should discuss this later and talk about this project."
Ben then told us what this project is about. I was simply amazed. I had my hands on an artificial crystal that when shot with pure energy, it emits a powerful laser that can cut through anything.

I tried developing something for the project. Couple prototypes are under testing but it is going pretty well. The final design is a little nerdy at best. It's like something you will see from a comic book. It's pretty tiny but the laser emitting from this very blade is pretty darn sharp. It can cut through steel without any effort at all. What's more cool is that it collects energy from everything around us. I call it the "Elite" blade.

Me and Stev are called in at the REBIRTH office. Something's not good. We're nervous.
"So sir, why do you have to call us in?"

The CEO of Rebirth, Benbix Silexan, told us bad news.
"I'm sorry but due to your involvement in the new conspiracy, we will have to suspend your relationship with REBIRTH."

We were in shock, we just lost our jobs, we have no idea what to do. I guess soon the truth will get out...
