QOTD: What's a TV series or movie you haven't watched have been recommended to?

A fairly (short/tall) (gender) limped along the crosswalk to the other side wearing a causal business outfit. The street lights illuminated the broken road.

People of all kinds traveled at different paces. (Y/n) was not a fan of the huge crowds pulling up along the sidewalk. All they wanted to do was get to work on time.

A collar-bone length brunette greeted you as your pitch black converse stepped through the glass doors. "Hello, Miss/Mister (Y/n)! How has your day been?" The lady behind the counter proudly shows her pearly whites.
You groaned and took a sip of your coffee, "Meh. It was completely  quatsch. Thanks for asking though." The lady was a bit surprised by your unusual response, but returned to the 'joy lady who smiles a lot' act a few seconds later.

You walk pass your co-workers, ignoring their polite greetings and collapsed onto the comfy office chair. Pictures of your relatives hung loosely on your walls, along with some birthday cards from elementary school. It wasn't useful for anything but you still kept it since you had poor memory. And a little Kermit the frog picture was taped on the side of your computer to cheer you up from time to time.

You chuckled a little at the thought. Just as you felt relaxed, you realized that you forgot to buy lunch for yourself. You sigh loudly and scoot your chair farther into the desk. As if on cue, your stomach growls in protest for food. The emptiness in your chest couldn't feel any worse.

Your afternoon went by as slow as molasses. Watching the clock was the only source of entertainment at the moment. Anyone who passed by you would question you blankly staring at the wall. When they got no response in return, they walked off to do their own job. Your cracked phone suddenly vibrates against the desk.
'Feels like a thousands years since I've heard that sound'

You reluctantly obeyed the cries of your mother's possible messages about your well-being. The text said,
Hey, Sweetie! I wanted know how you were doing today. I've invited some friends over on Saturday I would like
you to meet.

You mentally sigh in frustration. As the socially awkward cinnamon roll you were, you decided to inform your mother of a 'special meeting' you have on that day.

Hi. I'm feeling okay today. I might not make it to your party thing though.
Talk to you later :)

Your hands shove your broken-down phone in your pocket as the familiar sound of heels clicking against the floor rang through your ears. You tried to act casual and lay your head on your desk.

As expected, your boss, Ms. Darling waltzes over to your cubical office. You received a call last night from her about a case that has been happening over the past few months. An abduction case.
"(Y/n)."
"Yes?" You ask and take another sip of your coffee.
Ms. Darling places a folder on your desk labeled 'CLASSIFIED' and continues her speech,

"There have been recent abductions in nearby cities to Los Angeles. Other information has been unknown...except for a pattern that was recently discovered. Each of the cities have started from the farthest city from here...to the closest.
This discovery means that the next victim will been taken somewhere between today and next week. Your goal is to find out new information about this criminal. Good luck."

You wish them a good rest of their day and begin to work. Your computer loads up a wallpaper of....a very psychotic girl from a visual novel game. The game developers intended her to be a very hated character but she wrote her way into your heart.

Anyway, you load up your specially designed program and open up all cities that have been marked by the abductor. When you click on the cities, a blue tab with a picture attached to it pops up.

'Maria Roberts: Age: Classified
Height: 5'4
Last Seen: Peaceful Meadows Park, San Francisco'

'Kylie Hamsion: Age: 30
Height: 6'1
Last Seen: NorthGate Street, Beverly   Hills'

'Viola Parker: Age 23
Height: 5'8
Last seen: Marigolds Gardens, Oakland'

The list keeps going but you get the idea. You think for a moment and finish the rest of your dark-roasted coffee, placing it in the trash afterwards. The only name that sounded familiar was Viola Parker. You swear you've heard that last name before.

You pulled out your phone and searched through your contacts. Half of your contacts was filled with random people you haven't talked to since High School. "Aha!" You found a person named, 'Sam Rodgers'. He was your right-hand man back in college. The two of you did everything together. Until, he found a job as a police officer in Orlando, Florida. Viola was his little sister.

You called his number and waited for a while.

"Hello?"

"Hi! U-umm...It's me. (Y/n) (l/n).."

"Who?"

"You know, from college?"
"Huh. That does sound familiar. Why are you calling, anyway...?"

"Your sister has gone missing! I need to know if you know where her last whereabouts were."

"WHAT? She is?!"
Sam tries to calm his breathing and relax to think. The voice on the other line pauses and hums a low tune, as if to say that he's thinking.

"Oh yeah! She called a couple nights ago. She said something about going to a night club with her friend....Nate I think his name was. Yeah....I never trusted that guy. He's too nice."

You try to hold in your laughter but failed anyway. Sam pouts and mumbles something under his breath. You began to reassure Sam that you are resolute to find his sister: dead or alive.

"Okay...Bye, (y/n). Stay safe."

"I will..."
