Lost But Was It Found?

chapter 6

EDEN'S POV

Rome or Roma, the capital of Italy, with two and a half thousand years of history, which once the capital of the Roman Empire, was spread out in all it's glory for people like us to come and explore it, learn from it, be amazed by it.

We were standing in front of The Colosseum, an elliptical amphitheatre in the centre of the city, staring at the greatest work of Roman architecture and engineering.

I saw Ivy turn the page in the guide to Rome she had been reading and told us all,

"It was capable of seating fifty thousand spectators, and was used for gladiatorial contests and public spectacles".

It now stood in ruins due to the many earthquakes and stone robbers it had to face.

She then continued," The Colosseum has now become a background to the busy metropolis of modern  Rome."

Well, that was true we could see the magnificent structure from our hotel balcony. The same balcony where I first talked to Kia yesterday,

‘and so shamelessly made a fool out of yourself, obviously you will remember that forever',chucking that thought away I continued walking towards the Colosseum. 

We paid for our entry and went inside to come across a breadth taking sight of the remains of what once would have been a platform for the most exquisite performances or the cruelest battles.We also visited the museum dedicated to the Greek God Eros or according to Roman mythology Cupid which was located on the upper floor of the outer wall of the Colossuem. Beneath the Colosseum, there was a network of subterranean passageways once used to transport wild animals and gladiators to the arena. We then saw the majestic Arch of Constantine, which was behind the Colosseum.

After the Colosseum, we left to see the world famous Trevi Fountain, the fountain was crowded with allegorical figures and filled with emotion and movement  in these fountains, sculpture was the principal element, and the water was used simply to animate and decorate the sculptures. It was definitely worth watching. After spending sometime at the fountain relishing its beauty we walked to the pantheon and spent a few minutes viewing the inside and walked on through the Pizza Navona stopping for gelato at Mariotti's. They were definitely worth the detour.

We then realized how it was already lunch time and decided to eat a Roman meal. Heading towards a restaurant I looked across to see Kia deep in conversation with Stan and Haden about the beautiful sights we had just seen. Now that I think about it, why are Stan and Haden always together?,

‘Oh, shut up, concentrate on Kia will you, and not on the possibilities of your friends hiding something, wait what?' , Ha, now you see, the useless side of my thoughts, it is a big deal, if what I think is true?.

I felt immensely satisfied for having won my first arguments with the stupid other side of my thoughts. And, I had now accepted that side for your information, because no matter how hard I tried I couldn’t make it go away.

Any ways, coming back to Kia, that beautiful girl wearing a yellow flowing top and figure hugging jeans, oh how could someone manage to look pretty so effortlessly,

‘because she is a naturally beauty you genius’, yes exactly, she was looking even prettier due to the hint of red on her pale cheeks which was the result of all the walking we did today.

Only Kia and Ivy were the ones not complaining and actually enjoying Rome where as both Reese and Siena kept on cribbing about every other thing, from how their feet hurt .

'Who asked them to wear heels, when we knew we would have to walk'.

How they were both getting a sun tan, and how they would faint out of too much exercise.

Kia was trying her best to make the two of them calm down and was advising them to do what we were here for 'sight seeing'.

Finally Siena had shut up with her cribbing when a tall blonde boy with his own group came up to her and asked her for lunch, smiling broadly she happily obliged and left our company,

' huh, the effect guys can have on hurting feet' i smirked at my thought.

After Siena went, Reese was considerably quiet with her rants about all the suffering she had to endure mainly because there was no one to support her now.

‘And again, what's whit girls and their groupism, everything they do they need someone with them, even while visiting the god dam washroom'.

"Seriously"

I think I thought the last part aloud as then I saw Kia, Reese, Ivy and Troy who were closest turn towards me and give me an inquisitive look,

"Having another conversation with yourself I see?" asked Kia clearly amused.

I shook my head and smiled not being able to reply,

'ha ha ha, second time you make a fool out of yourself, I guess I should start keeping a count from now on’, SHUT UP! now this was surely in my head as I didn't see any one turning.

I have split this chapter into two and will upload the rest tomorrow, as my friend wasn't happy with my sleeping habits. Has this happened with you? people objecting to your habits and using taunts to correct you? m sure it has... :P
