Justin had just gotten out of school and was heading home to help his dad in the garage. The two of them were rebuilding an engine for a racer so he could race his car in the finals. Justin had known a lot about cars before he joined the rangers. He also hadn't seen his dad much until his mom died and he moved to Angel Grove. Despite this, the two of them still have a good relationship. Justin got to the house and went into the garage, it seemed his dad wasn't home. Justin figured he was in town and decided to start on his homework. He was a 15 year old junior at Angel Grove High School, due to his intelligence above kids his own age. He still got to visit some of his old friends from time to time after they graduated and went on to do their own thing. When they visited, they would remind each other about their adventures as power rangers and saving the world. After about an hour of doing homework, Justin's dad still hadn't shown up, making him worried. He pulled out his phone and dialed his dads number, the call went to voicemail. "Hey dad it's me." He said in the voicemail. "I'm waiting for you at the garage, let me know when you're coming." He then ended the voicemail and put the phone back in his pocket. After a few more hours, Justin was about to call him again when he heard the door open. "Dad?" He asked. The door closed and everything was quiet for a minute. "Not even close punk." A voice spoke. Justin was alarmed, the voice was his. He got up and went around the engine to see himself standing there. "Miss me?" The other Justin said. For a minute, Justin thought that this was the robot version of him that was made for an experiment. As he looked at the other him, he noticed the color scheme they wore. Justin always wore more blue than anything, but this one wore little blue and a lot of gray. This was a Shadow Ranger, an exact copy of a ranger but with their dark side. "What do you want?" Justin asked him. "As a matter of fact, how are you here?" The last time he saw the Shadow Rangers, they were destroyed when coming into contact with light. The Shadow Justin just laughed. "A new friend of mine helped me out." He said to him. "And now I'm returning the favor by helping him destroy every last power ranger." This alarmed Justin and he quickly ran into him and pushed him out the door. He had expected the sun to disintegrate him, but nothing happened. Justin looked around and realized that it was sunset, the sky was nearly darkened. "As much as I would love to kill you now, I'm ordered to do it in front of the new boss." Shadow Justin said to him. He got onto his feet and began walking towards him. "You'll have to come and get me first." Justin said as he got into a fighting position. The Shadow Justin smiled and shook his head as he got into his fighting position. "Don't forget, I know all your old moves." He said as they began to fight. The two of them fought and both used the original moves at first, but Shadow Justin was stronger in the shadows. He ended up grabbing Justin and slammed him into the ground. As he held him down, he noticed Justin laughing. "You may know my old moves." He said before kicking him off guard and sending him flying as he got back up. "But that was three years ago. A lot's happened since then." The Shadow Justin got up and admitted he was impressed with him. The Shadow Justin then pulled a key out of his pocket and inserted it into his own bracelet and turned it. The key transformed him into the Shadow Ranger. Justin was about to do the same, but then remembered that his power was gone. "Just great." He thought to himself. "I'll have to do what I can." The two of them ran to each other and started fighting once again, now Shadow Justin was even stronger. "You just don't get it, do you?" He said to him. "You may have been a ranger, but you will always be the same weak little punk you have been." This made Justin snap and he grabbed Shadow Justin's arm, flipping him over and holding him down. As he held him down, Justin felt something jab him in his side. Justin jumped back at the pain and saw some type of needle in the Shadow Justin's hand. "What did you do to me?" Justin said as he slowly got to the ground. He suddenly felt dizzy and everything seemed to be a blur. "Relax, this'll just keep you out until we get to my boss." The Shadow Justin said as he un-morphed. "Then when you wake up, we can get you over with." The Shadow Justin started walking over to Justin, who struggled to keep himself awake. Just then a bright red blast hit the Shadow Justin, sending him flying backwards. As Justin slowly slipped off, he saw a black power ranger appear and vanish as if he was a ghost. "Phantom Ranger?" He thought to himself as he watched the battle. The Phantom Ranger created a bright red light from his crystal, destroying the Shadow Ranger, and then turned to Justin. He ran over to Justin's side and tried to keep him awake. "Get us to base now!" He shouted into his communicator. "Stay with me Justin...stay with me." The Phantom Ranger's voice was fading and Justin became too tired and blacked out.
