In another part of the base, Billy was looking around the database for any attacks. He kept getting something about rangers going through portals but couldn't find them. These rangers were completely under the radar. It was as if they didn't exist, or maybe they just didn't wanna be found.
"Anything?" Tommy asked walking over. Billy sighed and shook his head. "Not sure what I'm missing here." He said. "One minute these people are on our radar and then, nothing.” He explained. Tommy nodded. “How about things with the Coinless group over in Drakkon’s reality,” He asked. “Has Trini said anything about an attack?” Billy sighed and turned to look at him. “So far everything seems safe from Drakkon,” He replied. “But she did say if anything happened she’d head over here as soon as possible.” He explained.
Tommy started to walk away when Billy stopped him. “Trini did send me something though,” He said before pulling up an image on his computer. “You should see this for yourself.” He stated. Tommy looked at the screen to see a doppelgänger of Kimberly, one of the other rangers he worked with. “She’s called a Ranger Slayer,” Billy explained. “She’s one of Drakkon’s top soldiers.” He added. “Then why haven’t I seen her before now?” Tommy questioned. Billy shrugged. “Maybe she doesn’t want you to.” He suggested. “Why?” He asked. “Do you really want the answer to that question?” Billy asked rhetorically.
Meanwhile in another part of the base, Just had gotten finished with the stitching. “Not bad,” Hyper Reality Justin said. “Could use some practice though.” He added. Justin shook his head. “Yeah, I’m gonna have to pass on that,” He said before noticing a green crystal on a necklace that Hyper Reality Justin was wearing. “What is that?” He asked. Hyper Reality Justin looked at him and then moved the necklace into his shirt. “Just something I found years ago.” He replied.
Justin nodded and sat down in a nearby chair. “So what was dad like on your earth?” He asked. Hyper Reality Justin sighed. “What does it matter,” He asked. “He’s dead, not missing.” He added. The two of them were silent for a moment. “What about our mom,” He asked. “I never knew her on my earth.” He added. “She died a few years ago on mine,” Hyper Reality Justin explained. “She was one of the first people who were affected by Drakkon’s army along with others.” He added. The two sat in silence once again.
Just then an alarm sounded. “What’s going on?” Justin asked. Hyper Reality Justin looked around and noticed a screen with security footage outside the base. Outside was a ranger in pink and black with a torn cape, armor on one arm and a bow that he recognized. “Ranger Slayer,” Hyper Reality Justin said. “And if she’s here, Drakkon won’t be far behind.” He stated. “Okay, what do we do?” Justin asked.
The rest of the rangers had already heard the alarm and met up with Tommy and the others to figure out their next move. “Okay everyone,” Tommy said. “According to our intel, Kimberly was brainwashed by Drakkon in his reality,” He explained. “That means there’s a chance we can snap her out of it.” He added. After a while, Tommy eventually decided to face the Ranger Slayer himself.
Tommy morphed into his green ranger suit and teleported to Ranger Slayer’s location. “I’m not here to fight you, Kimberly.” He stated. “I know what the influence of the spell Drakkon placed on you is like,” He explained. “In my reality, you were one of the people who helped me through it.” He added. “Let me do the same.”
“That’s almost touching, Green Ranger,” Ranger Slayer said with a laugh. “But if you won’t fight, at least you’ll be an easy kill.” She then fired an arrow at him which Tommy easily dodged. “Come on Kim, don’t throw your life away for Drakkon.” He told her. “Drakkon wants your head," Ranger Slayer stated. "I'm just here to collect." She added as she readied another arrow. Tommy shook his head. "Don't do this, Kim." He pleaded. Ranger Slayer stayed silent before releasing the arrow. The arrow shot towards Tommy, aiming for his chest. Just before the arrow could hit, a separate arrow interfered, destroying the arrow on impact. "And I thought Putties were bad enough." A voice stated. Tommy and Ranger Slayer looked to see Kimberly looking at her doppelgänger.
"At least those didn't have my face." Kimberly stated as she walked Tommy's side. "Since when did you become a ranger again?" Tommy asked. "That's complicated, Tommy." Kimberly replied. She then noticed Ranger Slayer coming towards her and morphed into her suit. "New look," Tommy said, noticing some changes made to the suit. "Does the new guy know about this?" He asked as the two of them began to fight Ranger Slayer. "New guy?" Kimberly asked in confusion. "You know, the one you met in the letter?" Tommy asked. Kimberly became frustrated with the question. "Are we seriously going to talk about the letter right now?" She questioned. "Look. there was never another guy," She admitted. "The long distance thing just wasn't working for me anymore." She added. "With me not being a ranger and us living in different places, it was getting harder."
"What does it matter anyway," Kimberly questioned. "You're married to Kat and have a son, remember?" She asked as they continued the battle. Tommy was surprised Kimberly mentioned his son. "You know about JJ?" He questioned. "We all do," Kimberly said. "It's not like Kat kept it a secret or anything." She added. "God, you rangers talk too much," Ranger Slayer stated before forcing them off of her and onto the ground. Kimberly immediately stood up and starting combating with Ranger Slayer. She knew that she need to destroy Ranger Slayer’s bow, which would break Drakkon's control. The two versions of Kimberly fought against each other until Kimberly grabbed the bow, slamming it to the grous, shattering it instantly. A green glow came from her as she no longer could be controlled by Drakkon.
Ranger Slayer fell to her knees before removing her helmet. Tommy and Kimberly carefully moved closer, knowing the possibility of it being a trick. Kimberly looked at the Ranger Slayer as she removed her helmet. She new that it was her doppelgänger, but it was still weird to see herself. Ranger Slayer looked at the both of them with a look of relief. "Thanks, I owe you," She stated. "After everything Drakkon put me and everyone else through," She began to explain. "It wasn't your fault," Kimberly interrupted. "You were under his control." She added. Ranger Slayer shook her head. "That doesn't change anything," She told Kimberly. "I went after my own team because of what he did to me," She explained. "My world's Billy is gone, and there's no way the team wants anything to do with me." She claimed with a grieving tone.
Tommy looked at Ranger Slayer, recognizing the grieving tone and look. He himself had felt that same grief when he was first brainwashed to be an enemy of the rangers. His green ranger power coin was originally used for evil until he was freed from Rita's influence. "I felt the same way," He admitted to Ranger Slayer, who looked at him. "But my team was willing to give me another chance to do good," He explained. "And if you let them, I think yours might just do the same." He said as he held out his hand. Ranger Slayer looked at Tommy's hand for a moment before taking it, allowing him to help her up. "There's something you need to know," She told both Tommy and Kimberly. "I wasn't the only Slayer that Drakkon made." She warned. "No one has ever mentioned the identities of the others or how many there are," She stated, anxiously. "But we need to be ready for any that come."
Author's Note: Apologies to anyone who has been waiting for the insane amount of delay. Did not realize how long it had been since I last updated this story. Hopefully the next one won't take as long.
