I Have Powers? I Have Powers!

We all got into the car and started driving.

"If I'm the daughter of two demigods, wouldn't that make me not a half-blood?" I asked

"Well normally yes, but you're different" Mom said

"Different? What do you mean?"

"You'll find out when you're older. I promise"

"Okay"

"When we get there, you need to talk to Mr. D" Dad said "He will say your name wrong and drive you crazy and-"

"Okay Honey" Mom intervened "Chiron will help you after you meet Mr. D. He is who your dad was talking about yesterday. His sixth grade Latin teacher, was actually Chiron the centaur"

"Ookay...Isn't a centaur a man horse? How did you not know your teacher was a man horse?"

"He has a magical wheelchair that has fake legs sticking out that hides his horse half" Dad explained like it was obvious

"Is there such thing as a backwards centaur? Like, if he had a horse head and a human body?" I asked

"That is something your father would ask" my mom mumbled

"That would be awesome, because it would have a horse brain. So, it would try to charge, but it can't because it has human legs!" Dad said

"You are unbelievable" Mom said

"What? It's funny"

"Okay" I said "So, I can't know why I'm a full demigod and-OH MY GOD!...er...gods"

"What happened?" Mom asked

"That poor ladybug! It hit the windshield. It's dead! IT didn't deserve to die!"

I know that me getting worked up about a dead ladybug is crazy and stupid, but ladybugs are the only bugs (other than butterflies) that I like. I even teared up a bit. It started drizzling. Wow, the weather really affects my mood.

My mom and dad looked at each other.

"What? Why did you look at each other like that?" I asked

"Um, you might have powers that you're unaware of, but we aren't telling you why until later" Mom said

"Why not? So that my curiosity will kill me?"

"No, I don't think you're ready"

"Okay"

"Your father would keep asking questions abou-"

"When are we getting there?"

Mom sighed and said, "Probably any minute now"

"I remember the first time I came to Camp Half-Blood. I got attacked by a minotaur" Dad said

"Yeah, I got attacked by a bunch of monsters. My best friend was killed and was turned into a tree" Mom said

"Interesting stories" I commented

"That won't happen to you"

"Good, is there anything else I should know about?"

"Yes, the cap that you got for Christmas with make the wearer invisible. Athena made it work again"

"That's awesome!"

I put on the Yankees cap and looked at my hands. They were gone! I was so happy! The rain stopped. Wow, the weather affects my mood.

"Oh my gosh, where did she go?" Dad asked
