                                                  Five

                                              Ω Lily

The smell of mortals stung my nose as I started walking down the road. Another meeting with Cole and Tyler. Did these guys never get bored of seeing each other? I sighed as I checked my phone; the short responses of Cole filled the chat, not to mention Tyler’s long paragraphs.

My phone rang and seconds before I checked it I bumped into a person, no wait, this isn’t a person. I looked up at the taller male, a frown forming on my face.

“Whoops! Sorry sweetie.” Bright yellow eyes… a Warlock.

“Its okay sir, do not worry.” I said at him smiling as sweetly as I could.

I made the air around me as thick as possible, full of mist, if the warlock was weak enough he would be fooled that I was another foolish mortal.

“That’s not going to work young Demon… I am not any warlock.” He whispered lowly.

I stayed silent, my body tense, my muscles twitching and my instinct telling me to run.

“Well then… have a nice time, Lily.”

“How do you know my name?” I snapped at him as I turned around.

“Your phone, friends seem to be calling for you.” He said. “My name’s Nathan.”

I sneered around angrily, annoyed that I was still just developing. I was turned into a demon just a few years ago, which also meant that I wouldn’t have the massive strength that fully grown demons would have.

“Nathan… never heard of such warlock… I’ll have to find him.” I muttered under my breath.

Once I entered the café I saw Tyler waving his eyes. Cole had his back towards the entrance and he didn’t really bother to turn around as I sat down on the chair besides him.

“Met someone unexpected huh?” he asked as he kept his eyes on his drink as he moved his spoon.

“Who’s Nathan?” I asked.

“Nathan is the son of Kythan, I think you know him. Well, everybody does, he is the strongest of all warlocks--leader of the north- eastern part of the United States of America.” Cole said as he looked at me.

“I didn’t know there were leaders of warlocks or such… though I knew there could be certain groups and their leaders for vampires and werewolves, almost obviously for demons… I had no knowledge of warlocks.” I muttered.

“Uhmm—guys, I don’t know what you are talking about… what about warlocks and vampires?” Tyler asked breaking the tension in between me and Cole.

My heart’s rate started increasing, I had totally forgotten that Tyler was with us. What would we do? What would we say? I was about to say something when Cole interrupted.

“It’s a book, you know City of Bones? It’s that one.” He said with no change in tone or face.

“Oh… I never liked reading books, you and your bookworm thing is very contagious, I should get away every once in a while.” Tyler said chuckling and I just rolled my eyes.

We kept talking about random things, Cole commenting every once in a while about what he thought of the topic we were talking. We stayed together for an hour or so, though after that hour we left the café and took separate roads.

“I’ll take you home.” Tyler said as he looked at me with a smile.

“I’m fine Tyler, you can go home. I doubt I’ll get kidnapped or something.” I said as I thought the last few times a group of men tried to touch me. Eventually they ended up in the hospital.

“Nobody knows what could happen.” Tyler chimed as he put his arm around my shoulder.

“I’m sure I do…” I muttered.

Soon after, we arrived at my house. Once I entered the door I looked sighed and peeked through the window to see if he was gone.

“What a lovely couple.” I heard from behind me.

It took exactly three seconds for me to turn around and get hold of the unknown man. My fingernails were sharp and slightly digging into the unknown male’s neck.

           “Who are you?” I hissed.

“A demon not knowing what the other monster is?” the male asked. “Sweetheart, we met today in the afternoon.”

“Nathan.” I said simply.

“You guessed perfectly right!”

“Awesome.” I said as enthusiastically as possible. Sadly I am not as good when it comes to acting; I will let the results of my voice up to your imagination.

“Don’t be so cold my dear, I am a handsome warlock that just came to visit another pretty shadow creature.”

I didn’t respond this time.

Silence filled the air, nothing that I could define as sound could be heard, except the small breaths that the other warlock took in and out, mixed with mine.

“Lily, I came here to talk to you about some serious stuff. A war is about to happen and up to who joins what side; the whole war can be stopped easily with a flick of a hand.” Nathan said a mysterious smile forming in his lips.
