“What do you mean? I haven’t heard about anything related to wars…” Lily said as she looked at me with a confused look.

Her frown was such a cute one, and not to mention how she was biting her lips so nervously. My smirk slowly widened into a smile and I shrugged at her, not really eager to explain what was happening in the Shadow World.

“We could say it’s a war in which all monsters in this world make their own alliances and decide whom they will be with and whom they’ll be against. It is now or never, but the demons don’t really seem to be thinking of making any action. The werewolves and the warlocks have already made an alliance to fight against the vampires and the fallen angels.” I muttered as I took a small coin out of my pocket and threw it up into the air.

“I want that you,” I said, “to convince the dear old-generation of demons to join our fight. The elves have yet to join in, though they eventually will. I am guessing they will join the other side, so why don’t you join ours?”

The coin finally fell back into my hand.

“Ah… I thought it would be head. I guess I was wrong this time…” I grumbled angrily as I made the coin disappear. “I hope you understand how important this matter is, please do cooperate with us.”

“Don’t joke with me. I don’t follow orders of other monsters, even worse from people who enter my house without my permission.” Lily said as she hissed, her wings slowly appeared from behind her back and her skin turned from silk-like skin into skin full of dark lines, the ancient demon writing moved here and there, changing shapes and words.

I clicked my tongue as I saw the young demon slowly turning into her true form. As I saw her getting ready to pounce on me, I lowered my eyes into the ground where she was standing and then back up to her. Slowly letters started to appear in the floor where Lily was standing, forming into a circle.

“Lily, before you kill me, can I ask you a small question?” I asked, trying to make some more time for the circle to be fully closed. Though it did take some difficulty for I had to find the right words and write them down in the ground and at the same time, ask a damned stupid question.

“You already did.” She hissed and the second she was about to pounce the circle was closed.

The whole room glowed golden as the runes were completed and for a split second you could hear the loud screech the demon made. To block the bright light I covered my eyes and looked away, making a barrier around myself so that the magic would not affect me. Slowly, the glow started to disappear and everything was very calm, as if nothing had happened. On the ground laid and unconscious Lily, in her human form, with thousands of golden letters passing through her arms, legs, neck and even her face. The circle was still there, it would last a few minutes, glowing faintly. As I looked at Lily I shook my head and smirked.

“The last thing you’d want to do is hurt a fully trained warlock.” I muttered as I left the house.

“I didn’t think the son of one of the greatest warlocks would be so… stupid.” Said a voice from above me.

“Who are you?” I said, a frown forming in my face. I still had my face facing towards the front, afraid of looking back.

“You can call me ‘Bloodsucker’, though I prefer… Cole.”
