At last, we have come to the third and final chapter!
I hope that this is how you had imagined it ending MissSmileandDream !!And may I just say one of two things;
That I am so very sorry for not finishing this on time, and that it has been a great pleasure to write this for you!! 😘Long into the next morning they ran, hardly pausing for breath or break. It wore poor Margaux and Gimli out, but still they continued to run. Soon the sun was directly overhead, turning their shadows into mere dots at their feet and burned the tops of their heads and shoulders.
Margaux looked down at her slightly torn and stained dress and leggings, and for once she was grateful for their thin material.
Aragorn allowed them to slow their pace to nothing more than just a light jog.
Within this short time, the young woman fixed her hair, which had begun to fall away from the braid she had put in, and grabbed a quick drink of water from a water skin Legolas had lent her.Gimli huffed and puffed at her side, his heavy double headed axe clutched firmly in his gloved hand and his metal helm shadowing his sweaty face.
"We....we could do with a rest....ANYTIME NOW Aragorn!" The dwarf ranted and gasped.
"Not for another mile, Gimli. We are closely gaining on Uruk hai!" Aragorn barked over his shoulder.
Ahh yes, their quarry. The Uruk hai pack that raced across the plains ahead of them, with two of the Three Hunter's close friends held captive in their midst.
Though Margaux had never met these 'halflings', (as Gimli called them) before, she was quite worried for their safety.Although, helping rescue them was not Margaux'a purpose among the hunters.
Her reason for tagging along with them was to escape an unwanted future in her village, and use the hunters as cover from the cold and danger of the wide open plains until she reached the town of Meduseld. For a better future.
Yet, even though this was only her second day traveling with the three hunters, she had already grown quite fond of her newfound friends.
Especially Legolas....
Magraux blushed at her own thought and subconsciously looked up ahead at said elf, only to find his gaze already back on her.
Once he realized she had caught his staring, he quickly turned back around and continued to jog. Magraux smiled to herself with a lingering blush.
Still they continued on, until at long last Aragorn called for a short break.
Once more, Gimli collapsed to the rock strewn floor with a huff.
Magraux stood hunched over with her hands on her knees as she panted for breath.Once she gathered up her breath once more, she stood back up and further took in her surroundings.
Plains.
For miles around still all she could see was the rocky landscape. Magruax plopped down onto the ground to give her sore feet a rest. She wasn't used to such traveling, much less running for hours on end!
Soon Legolas joined her on the hard earth, shooting her a smile that she was quick to return."How is it lass, that you can smile so brightly and so wide after you have ran for MILES without food, rest, or much water?!" Gimli asked in astonishment, with a gruff, a disbelieving tone to his voice.
"I don't know. I just can!" She said, much to the amusement of Legolas and Aragorn.
Magruax chuckled and grinned while Gimli continued to grumble to himself.
