Cora rode beside Whitey into La Belle, after the boy had received a lesson from Anastasia back at the house. Thunder rumbled over head, lightning cracking across the sky. As they rounded the corner toward Whitey's place, Mary Agnes appeared before them striding up the road.

'Whitey?' The woman queired.

'Evening, Maggie,' Whitey replied.

'Cora?'

'Mary Agnes,' The girl nodded.

'What are you traipsing around in the dark for?'

'We was just going for a ride,' Whitey lied.

'Now?'

'Yeah. Well, why not? I mean, you're out here, ain't you?'

The woman held up a doll, 'Trudy forgot her dolly at my place.'

The pair looked at Mary Agnes as she looked behind her, Cora followed her line of sight to find two women up the street a little.  Another round of thunder rumbled over head, before lightning light up the entire town for a split second.

'Well, we best both get inside before the rain hits,' Mary Agnes muttered.

'Yeah,' Whitey replied before waiting for something from Maggie; 'Alright.'

'Night, Mary Agnes,' The Kelly girl called before she followed after the boy.

As they reached Whitey's house, she slid out of the saddle and landed on her feet with a thud; quickly beginning to remove her tack from her horses back. She threw her saddle inside the door of the house, laying the saddle pad out as her bed, before she turned back to remove the bridle from her mare's head; chucking it behind her saddle. Cora waved off the rope Whitey offered her to tie her horse up, letting the mare roam free in the streets.

'Why don't you ever tie her up?' He asked as he followed her into the house.

'Because it annoys her,' She replied with a shrug.

'It annoys her? How do you know that?'

'There's a lot you can tell from a horse's body language.'

She turned and smiled quickly at him, before moving to drag her tack further inside so it was out of the way of the rain. Cora sat on the floor afterwards, getting herself comfortable as Whitey watched her from where he stood. Once she was comfortable, she removed her hat and looked up at him; cocking an eyebrow at his confused features.

'What?' She queried.

'Why you on the floor?' He asked.

'Cause this is where I'm sleeping.'

'You can share the bed, ya know.'

'Oh, really? Whitey Winn is gonna let an outlaw share his bed with him?'
