I actually didn't know who Ramarak was until people started commenting about him. Once I realized it was the name of the Alpha Skull Crawler in Kong Skull Island, I immediately came up with a Godzilla Warriors version, but I doubted I would use him. When I saw how many reads and votes the first Kong story was getting, I decided to make another one.
Some story elements were partially inspired by Black Panther and Thor Ragnarok, the two most recent MCU movies at the time of writing. Black Panther actually inspired a lot of things that are going to appear in future stories involving Skull Island and Kong.
There's a lot of foreshadowing for future Godzilla Warriors stories in this story. I won't reveal it all because of spoilers, but I'm sure someone will find them all eventually.
Akane, Hana's friend, was named after one of the characters from the third Godzilla VS MechaGodzilla. I figured I didn't have enough connecting Godzilla Warriors to Godzilla as a whole, and I didn't want to just make up a new human character.
Kong's elemental powers came from the original Godzilla VS King Kong movie, where King Kong had electrical powers. I was going to give him powers over electricity, but I went with elemental powers instead to add a more mystical feeling to the story. The part where Kong controls fire from lightning was a reference to this.
