It's been just over two weeks since I had dinner with Bentley's family, almost the middle of October, as I walked into the hospital carrying a bag of fast food for Bentley. It was during those two weeks that Henry, Bentley's grandpa, wasn't getting better. The cancer was growing to fast for even a werewolf to be able to heal himself. Bentley hasn't left the hospital in four days. I walked into the room to see Bentley shifting through papers; whether it was his Alpha work or homework, I didn't know, I didn't ask.

"Hey," I said knocking slightly on the door. His head shot up and he gave me a weak smile, "How's it going?"

He shrugged his shoulders.

"I brought you some food. That didn't come out of the cafe." I told him sitting the bag on the table he was working at.

"Thank you, Sugar." He pulled me to him so I could sit on his lap and dug the fries out of the bag. I held the container while he ate them.

"How's he doing." I asked looking over at Henry.

"He's been stable for most of the day. His heartbeat is weak. The doctors say that he probably won't make it to the end of the week." He held out a fry for me to eat, I did.

I sighed and leaned in closer to Bentley. He kept eating, occasionally feeding me his fries. I stayed there until it was time for me to go to practice. I stood up and just as I turned to leave, he caught my hand.

"You'll come back after, right?" He looked so broken that I couldn't tell him no. I nodded my head yes.

Practice passed by in a blur so the next thing I remember was walking back into the hospital and back up to Henry's room. I walked back into the room and sat next to a sleeping Bentley on the couch. No matter how many times I told him, he wouldn't go home to sleep. I made him leave the other day to at least to go shower.

I laid my head on Bentley's lap and his arm rested on my waist and his other hand ran his fingers through my wet hair.

"You're awake." I said as I closed my eyes.

"I woke up when you walked in." He whispered.

"Why didn't you say anything?" I looked up at him.

"Don't know, wanted to see what you'd do." He grabbed the blanket that was laying across the back of the couch and put it across from me. "Have you eaten anything?"

"No." I mumbled.

"Sugar, you need to eat before you fall asleep." I hummed in agreement, "I'll call Mom and see if she can bring anything by."

I barely heard him call his mom, in fact I didn't even hear her come in until Bentley was lightly shaking me awake.

"Sugar, come on. Sit up. Mom brought soup." I sighed and sat up to eat the homemade soup.

"Thanks, Maggie." I said after I was done and noticed her in a chair by Henry.

"You're welcome, dear." She gave me a tight smile and her focus went back to Henry.

I stayed for a few more hours, fell asleep again only to have Bentley wake me up just after nine o'clock.

"Why don't you go home, Sugar."

"But--"

"Go home." He was stern, stressed.

"Okay." I sighed, "But you call me if anything changes." It wasn't a question.

"You'll be the first." I nodded my head once and he gave me a kiss goodnight and I drove back to my apartment.

Maybe it was because I took a nap or maybe it was because I was worried but when I got back to my apartment I could not go to sleep for the life of me. I was just laying in my bed trying to sleep, I think I eventually got there because I woke up to my phone ringing.
