"You changed your hair." Bentley mumble against my lips as he pushed open the dressing room that I was in earlier. I hummed in agreement, "I like it." He paused kissing me as he ran his fingers through my now shorter locks.
"I never thought I'd be able to do this again." Bentley said kissing me, hard, and we fell back onto the couch that was there, him bracing himself on top of me. I pulled away from him because breathing was important for my survival and Bentley kept kissing down my neck until he found his mark. I moaned his name.
"I don't know how this is still here but I don't even care." He mumbled against it, which gave me enough clarity though my Bentley induced haze to pull his head back so I was looking in his eyes. He moved to kiss me but I moved my head to the side so he kissed my cheek. He gave me a confused look.
"I can't. It just doesn't feel right." I told him.
"What the hell does that mean?" He asked me, he was getting angry. That was a new emotion for him towards me.
"It means that I'm still kinda mad at you." I said sitting up.
"Me? I didn't do anything." I could tell that he was angry and confused.
"And that's part of the issue here. You could have stopped her. You're an Alpha for fucks sake." I yelled at him.
"I tried to fight against that shit she gave me. I never wanted to forget you, I never wanted to tell you that I wanted her. I was having the worst out of body experience and the worst part was that I couldn't do anything about it. The last thing I remember was see you at the coffee shop. I tried to contact my wolf and I did it once but after that he disappeared. I don't know where he went, what he did, anything. I tried to get back to you sooner, believe me." He begged me, his arms wrapped around my middle and we fell back on the couch again.
"That's the thing though, Bentley. I do believe you. I was told your wolf to disappear." I felt him freeze above me. "I knew you'd freak if you couldn't talk to your wolf while you were under that potion, because an Alpha without his wolf can't do anything."
"So, you do listen when I tell you Alpha things." He muttered.
"I always listen." I said tapping his nose before continuing what I was saying before, "But, I don't think I can forgive you yet." I whispered.
"But I didn't mean a single thing." He pleaded looking up at me.
"I know but regardless, you still broke my heart whether it was intentional or not. I can't just erase the things you said to me out of my mind. I can't forget how you many times you made me cry without even realizing it, how many nightmares I had because of it."
"I will never forgive myself for doing that do you." He whispered, pulling me closer to him, "I will spend the rest of my life making it up to you." I was still conflicted and he could see that, "There's something else your mad about, isn't there?"
"Why didn't you tell me?" I blurted.
"Tell you what?" He asked slowly.
"That I'm The Guardian. Not just a guardian, The Guardian, the one to save all supernatural creatures from some great evil."
"Well, I—"
"I guess I have the power to talk to dead people and like that's not creepy at all. Who in the spirit world is willing to help a twenty year old girl? Everyone's going to think I've lost it or something. And just in case you're wondering, I've tried and I can't. I have read every book that Henry read and I read all his notes and I'm still hopeless. We're all gunna die because I can't do anything."
