Author note. As you can see in this image Lucy has black hair and blue eyes. This is how you should imagine her in this chapter. You'll know when the transformation has been complete.

Me and gray have been sharing an apartment in crocus for about 6 months now. We do odd jobs around town to make money for rent. The rest of our time is spent training. That's what I was doing. Training in the woods when gray arrived.

"Hey luce? You out here?" Gray asked cautiously. "Over here." I panted. I was exhausted. I could summon two spirits now thanks to grays excessive training. I had to give it to him. The boy had stamina.

He walked around a tree to find me on my knees panting and sweating from exhaustion. "Wow luce. You look beat. How long you been at it?" He asked. "About two hours now I think." I replied smugly. "That's great. You've improved. I can feel the magic coming off you." He said as he pretended to be knocked back.

I could help but laugh at his childishness. I knew he was trying to keep me happy. Leaving the guild was hard on me. I cried the whole train ride. Gray lent me his shoulder. I felt bad because I feel like I dragged gray along. No matter how many times I tell myself he did it of his own free will. I just couldn't believe he might have feelings for me. I was to hurt by natsu to think about that.

"So what took you so long?" I asked since he had been gone for hours. "Oh yea. You ready for a break? I have someone I want you to talk to." Gray said excitedly. "Oh yeah? About what?" I asked.

I wasn't the same person anymore. I hardly laughed or smiled. I wore dark clothes. Honestly I didn't want to leave the woods let alone talk to someone.

"I think it could really help our training." Gray said. I talked to a guy in town. If we go and get rid of a monster harassing these people a couple towns over we get 200,000 jewel." He said with a smile.

"And how does that help our training." I asked skeptically. A huge grin formed on his face. He looked so cute when he smiled. Wait did I just say gray was cute? I'm spending way to much time with him. "Not only do you get 200,000 jewel, you also get....a water dragon slayer lacryma." He finished waiting for my reaction.

"That would be.....amazing! Could you imagine how strong we would be?" I asked excitedly. This works perfect since natsu uses fire. I'll win for sure. "What do you mean we? If we do it your getting the lacryma." He said with a smirk.

"What? Why me?" I asked. "Because." He said leaning into my ear. "I want to see you wipe the floor with that flame brained idiot." He whispered.

I could feel his breath tickle my ear. Iv never stood this close to gray before. He smells like...pine trees...and....mint. It's very refreshing. I shook myself out of my thoughts.

"Oh so I can only beat natsu if I become a dragon Slayer huh." I teased. "What? No no I didn't mean it like that." He said waving his hands in front of him. "I'm kidding gray!" I said laughing. "So lets do this then!"

We headed back to town to meet the man about the job. We arrived at his house and knocked on his door. Not long after a man in his late 40s opened the door. "Hello. Can I help you?" He asked. "Yes sir I talked to you earlier about a job?" He said looking around.

The living room was nicely decorated with two couches a loveseat and some coffee tables. The only weird thing was all the cat and dog pictures on the wall. I mean what's with this guy?

"Ah yes. I remember now. So you'd like to take down the monster and get 200,000 jewel huh?" He asked. "Well it's more about the lacryma to be honest." Gray said scratching the back of his neck. I noticed he does this when he's nervous.
