Break up is hard

I woke up the next morning to the sun in my eyes. My face was still wet from all my crying. I stretched and yawned as I got up and went to take a shower. When I finished I brushed my teeth. Today I decided to wear a black strapless tank top gray jacket and black skirt with knee high black boots. I placed my hair in a messy pony tail on the side of my head and grabbed my keys.

I wasn't sure if I really wanted to go to the guild today. I knew natsu would be there and I didn't want to see him. When I made it to the guild I kicked the door open. "Good morning fairy tail!" I yelled. Everyone looked my way. "Good morning Lucy!" Everyone yelled making me smile.

Natsu may have broken my heart into a million pieces but at least I still have my family. I walked to the bar and sat down. "Her Mira can I get a chocolate milkshake?" "Coming right up!" She said with a smile placing it in front of me.

I sipped my shake debating on wether or not to take a job. Suddenly gray and Erza sat on either side of me. "Would you like to accompany us on a quest Lucy?" Erza Asks. I look around the guild. "What about natsu?"

"Him and lisanna went on a job earlier. Besides I'm never working with him again after what he did to you." Gray said slightly blushing. Wait is he blushing? I thought to myself.

"Thanks gray." I say looking at the floor. Well a mission with them couldn't hurt. I thought. "I would love to go on a mission with y'all. Who's butt are we kicking this time?" I ask with a smile. I looked at the request. Take out some bandits just outside of town. Seems easy enough.

We took the request to Mira to confirm we were taking it and headed out of the guild. Natsu and lisanna were returning from their mission as we left. I noticed they were holding hands so I looked at the ground to avoid eye contact.

"Hey guys. We're y'all going?" Natsu asked when he noticed us. Gray threw his arm around my shoulder ignoring natsu. I looked up to see gray glaring at him. "Me gray and Lucy are going on a mission." Erza stated. Natsu turned and looked at me.

"Well if your taking that weakling with you it will take forever to get the job done." He said with a smirk. I was shocked to hear natsu talk this way. From the look of it Erza gray and lisanna was too.

Gray took his arm off my shoulder and before anyone could stop him he punched natsu in the face. "Lucy is stronger than you'll ever be flame brain! Show some respect!" He placed his arm around my shoulder again and started leading me away. Erza caught up soon after.

"What took you so long?" Gray asked. "I had to teach natsu a lesson." She said with a glint in her eye. We turned and saw lisanna trying to pick an unconscious natsu up off the ground. Me and gray looked at each other and burst out laughing.

I couldn't get natsus words out of my head. "If your taking that weakling with you it'll take forever to get the job done." Is that what he thought of me? I was just weak to him? Someone he had to constantly save and protect? I made a promise to myself right there to no longer be a burden. I would become stronger somehow and beat him.

We headed to the outskirts of magnolia were the bandits were hiding out. I started to question wether everyone in the guild thought I was weak. I knew gray didn't because of what he said to natsu. It warmed my heart knowing I had someone looking out for me. I'm going to show everyone I'm not weak Lucy Heartfilia.

There was an abandoned building in the woods on the outskirts of town. It looked like it could hold at least 20-30 people. "Ok guys what's the plan?" Gray asks. He already had his shirt off ready to go. I couldn't help but admire his toned upper body. He caught me looking and smirked.

"We need to find out how many of them are there for sure before we act." Erza said commandingly. "I can summon Virgo to dig a hole for us. It looks to me like they have a basement." I said trying to be helpful. "Great idea Lucy. We sneak in from beneath them I love it." Erza got that gleam in her eyes again. I summoned Virgo and had her dig the hole.

We snuck into the hole that lead to their basement. It was pretty huge. Luckily nobody was down here. It was dark and i honestly was kinda scared. I could feel the chill of grays body close to me and unconsciously stepped closer to him. I felt our arms touch and I jumped at the coldness.

I heard gray chuckle beside me. "What's so funny?" I ask him. "Is luce afraid of the dark?" "W..what?! No!" I scoffed. I could feel my face heat up at his teasing. "You two quit messing around!" Erza scolded. "Yes ma'am!" We said in unison. "Over here I found the stairs." Erza whispered.

We made our way up the stairs. The door was already opened which we thought was strange. We walked into a circular room with a beautiful chandelier. There were 20 bandits waiting for us.

I acted fast. I grabbed my keys and summoned Taurus. "I call upon you to pass through the gate. Gate of the bull open! Taurus!" I shouted as I grabbed my whip. "Your body is looking mooost delicious mrs Lucy."

"Take then down Taurus!" I yelled. I whipped one guy by the arm and Lucy kicked him in the face. Taurus took our half of them with one swing. 9 more bandits to go. I returned Taurus and summoned Aries. "I call upon you to pass through the gate. Gate of the ram Aries!"

"I'm sorry." She said as she appeared in a cloud of pink fluff. "Don't worry about it Aries. Can you handle the rest?" I asked. "Of course mrs Lucy!" 
She easily handled the last few guys. I turned to Erza and gray.

"Geez Luce. You could have saved us some." Gray said with a smirk. "Yea what if we wanted to join." Erza said looking sad. "I'm sorry guys I got carried away." I said laughing. "You don't have to prove anything to us." Gray said. "We already know your strong. Don't let what that asshole said to you get to you ok."

I couldn't help but smile. "Thanks Gray." I said blushing. "Let's go back to the guild." Erza said. "I'm missing my strawberry cake." Stars formed in her eyes at the thought. Me and gray laughed and followed her back to the guild. When we walked through the door everyone greeted us. We had only been gone an hour.

"Well that was fast." Mira stated as we walked to the bar. "Well when you have a bad ass like Lucy on your team things are always easy." Gray said with a smirk looking at me. I blushed crimson at his complement. I heard someone snicker behind me and turned to see natsu.

"I'm surprised y'all made it back at all with her on your team." He scoffed. What was his deal. He never talks about family this way. What did I do to make him hate me. "Actually she's the one who did all the work." Gray said with a scowl. I could tell his anger was getting the best of him.

"It's ok gray." I said placing my hand on his shoulder. "We don't have to explain ourselves to someone who treats his family like garbage." I said flipping my hair back. I glared at natsu as I spoke. Waiting for his reaction. "I don't treat family like garbage." He said. "Just slutty girls like you." He said with a smirk.

Me? Slutty? I mean yea I wear skimpy clothes sometimes but I'm not slutty. "How exactly am I slutty?" I questioned. "We've never even kissed. Your the only guy Iv ever been with." I couldn't understand why he would say that.

Gray couldn't take much more. He balled his hands into fists and was ready to pounce. Lisanna walked up and placed her hand on natsus shoulder. "Come on let's go eat natsu." She said with a smile. His face lit up at the sound of her voice. "Yeah ok. I didn't wanna eat here anyway." And they left the guild.

"I'm going to kill him!" Gray screamed when they left. "How could he say that about Luce. Lisanna wears skimpy clothes too. No offense Mira." He added at the end looking scared. "It's fine gray. Most of the girls in the guild wear skimpy clothes and I don't see him calling them out. He's just a jerk." She said.

"Well it's been a long day I'm going home." I said with a wave as I headed for the door. "Hey luce mind if I walk you home?" Gray asked. "Sure I don't mind." I said with a slight blush. It wasn't like gray to walk me home.

We waved to everyone and left the guild. Tomorrow has to be better right?" I thought to myself.
