Keiths POV
As King Alfor walked in, I felt dizziness overcome me. I swayed slightly, stomach churning. Guess it's not a good idea to hold a struggling person in chains for three hours straight. But I stood strong, sending a a shock down the chains. The prisoner whimpered at the shock, but I'd been doing this for three hours and they had become almost immune.

I heard real chains snap around the prisoners wrists, and I let the purple ones slowly fade.

"Thank you, Prince Keith." I feel a hand on my shoulder, but I can't process who it is.

I let out a strangled groan, and sink to the floor. My stomach releases my small breakfast on the floor. I feel strong arms wrap around me, hear a voice calling to me, but I can't focus on anything but the ringing in my ears as I slowly drift away.

Lances POV

I watch, horrified, as Keith keels over, clutching his stomach. I sprint over to him, but skid to a stop to avoid slipping on the vomit that is leaking from his mouth. I wrap my arms around him, calling his name over and over again, but he shows no response in his still open purple eyes. He scrunches up his face in pain, and then relaxes in my arms.

I scream.

Someone drags me away from him, repeating something while caressing my cheek as I reach for Keith. I kick and scream, but they just hold me down and tell me to calm down. I can't calm down. Keith is... I don't even know what Keith is, but they can't seriously think I'll calm down.

Tears stream down my face as I reach for him, as he's carted off to a medical bay. I close my eyes, curling up into a ball.

I feel something fluffy brush my tears off my cheek, and I open my eyes to a lilac paw on my face. I look into sad black eyes that see so little, yet so much. Mirror whispers something as I slowly drift off into a peaceful sleep.

"Sleep well, blue cub."

Third Person POV

Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep.
The heart monitor goes on and on as Lance sleeps in a chair beside Keith. His eyes are closed, but salty tears still leak out. Keith let's out a snuffle as he sneezes. Then silence. It's unbearable. The only sound is the heart monitors monotonous beeping, and the ragged breathing of the two boys.

The silence suffocates the woman leaning on the doorway, looking at her brother and his mate with her mind, as her eyes cannot see. She sighs, making her way over the vase of dying flowers. She twists a petal in her fingers, thinking of a situation so like this that she has only seen once in her thousands of years of living.

She reaches with her mind to the hearts of the two boys, and she sees the purple string connecting their souls. She sighs, and uses the string to make a heart.

"Good night cubs. I'm sorry."

The heart monitor speeds up as the woman exits the room, waking up the blue eyed prince. He rushes to his partners side, eyes filling with tears that drip onto the unconscious man's face as the machine flat lines.

And then starts again.

Keith sits up with a start, taking in large gulps of air. The Altean lets out a strangled cry as he hugs the Half breed, sobbing into his shoulder.

They lay there for hours, sobbing into each others shoulders and muttering words of love in their mother tongues.

Keith pulls away, looking at Lance with teary eyes.

"I love you Lance." He says, kissing his mate with chapped lips.

Authors note!
Ooooh boy I think I made myself cry in the middle of church. That's great.
