That evening passed fairly quickly. It was getting late now, Ryan was round Riley's and both mum and dad were still working late, so I was scavenging in the kitchen for something to eat. Deciding cooking was effort I grabbed a bowl of cereal and head up stairs to my room, or as my dad refers to it my ‘pit'.
Like all the houses in this town ours is made of huge stone walls and large windows, the kitchen was on the right and the front room on the left separated by a wooden stair case. The whole down stairs had the same black and white colour scheme. I climbed the stairs into a long cream hall with the same dark wooden floor as the downstairs. The hall is lined with two doors on the left and two on the right. I pulled open the door second on the left and entered the familiar room.
Each wall in my small square room is different; the one at the far end was a light grey. To the left was a wall completely covered in posters of bands and celebrity's, the wall I had just came through was a bright red and to the right was plain white. It was only a few months ago I had finally convinced my mum to let me decorate my own room, before then it was a hideous pink and white scheme. I grabbed the television remote, switched on Kerrang! And settled into the mass of pillows on my bed eating cocopops and waving my spoon in time to Green Day,
I must have fallen asleep like that as I woke up the next morning in the same clothes and a spoon in my hair. Scraping my hair back I got up and opened the windows either side of my bed, I could hear both my mum and dad laughing in the garden below, it must be late, they always sleep in on a Saturday not having to work on the weekends. Switching the television off I padded down the hall into the bathroom.
After shoving my clothes in the washing basket I got in the bath letting the hot steaming water relax my muscles, I spent time doing everything that needed doing. When I finally emerged I wrapped myself and my hair in soft blue towels and padded bare foot back to my room. As I passed Ryan’s room I could hear music and Ryan’s muffled voice singing tragically out of tune. I continued to my room seriously hoping he wasn't considering singing as a career.
Shutting the door behind me, I spun round to find a small figure tucked into my bed. I knew immediately from the shocking red hair that it was Robyn.
"Ciao" she mumbled not bothering to open her eyes. "What time is it?" I replied stumbling over her red converse to my wardrobe in the corner. Checking she still had her eyes closed, I quickly dried off and pulled on underwear, socks and a huge 'Choose Life' t-shirt.
I sat crossed legged at the end of the bed, her short body just about reaching half way. I nudged her leg repeating my question. She held up two fingers signaling that it was 2 O'clock. Towel drying my hair I explained that we had 5 hours until Riley’s party.
"Jayden’s meeting us there" she mumbled as she reluctantly sat up rubbing her eyes.
"Rough night?" I questioned.
"That’s an understatement, I swear I nearly flushed the brat down the toilet" Robyn looked after her little brother whenever her mum had a little too much to drink, which was pretty much every night.
"You need to make me something to eat before I eat you" she announced slithering out of bed fully dressed in grey skinny jeans and a white why so serious? T-shirt then crawling to the door on her hands and knees. I grabbed my bowl and spoon from last night and followed her out.
I dumped everything in the sink and left Robyn hunting in the cupboard for something to eat. I stepped out the Glass doors onto the scorching decking where my mum and dad were sitting. Desperate to get my feet off the hot decking, I sunk into a chair next to my dad who was in jeans and a shirt rather than his usual suit
